Depression is a phrase over-used, these days people don't know what true depression is. And I know not all selfharmers are emos,their wannabe emos, attention seekers or seriously depressed[like have been raped,lost a child, etc] My little thick head? Yet your the one calling me 'lovey'. Enough said there. Oh I know plenty about self-harm and depression actually 'mate' but people think their 'depressed' and begin to self harm listening to MCR thinking their all emo and depressed because they're goldfish died after having him for 2 weeks ;/ Yeah poems can have swear words in it but it looks stupid and ******,like I expect yours does. And why all the boldness? I'll read your point either way and prove you wrong either way,using bold font doesn't make me read it even more.

Selfharm is not attention seeking, some people do it cause their 'emo', 'goth', or do want attention, but i do not do it for them reasons, 1. I hate people who label themselfs 2. And i dont listen to gay stupid depressing music, i listen to techno, and rnb. I never said you didn't know about it and to be honest you can't know if you know more about depression than me cos you really can't say cos you don't know what I learn/read/know about. Actually get your facts straight,a high percentage of self harm is attention seeking, very few that do it are actually fully depressed. I don't label myself nor have I done in this or any thread so I haven't 'labelled myself' as you put it. I don't know crap about you,I know that you write little poems that are like 'I WANNA DIE' and all that crap like it when tbh your just taking a more subtle way about it and self harming, if you were that depressed you wouldn't want to live and probably wouldn't wanna be here. But in most scenario's I don't get why people don't want to live because nothing much has happened to them, note I said most, not all. Define 'gay stupid depressing' music for me please? What sort of bands go into this 'genre'? No instead you seek attention by posting in someones thread 'I have loads of poems, since i have depression, their pretty much about suicide, and .. uhm.. something else. But yeah, not sharing them, hehe.

Actually, GET YOUR FACTS RIGHT, not very many attention seek, because if they did, why the hell do i have friends who selfharm and it took them around 3 years to actually say anything. Hm? I call that not attention seeking. And in this school i go too, stupid may i say, most people their cut themselfs, theirs around 10 peoplewho go their, and 8 of them cut, and they dont attention seek AT ALL, if they did why the hell do thye cover it up, and clam up when the subject on selfharm comes up Hm?
And i write poems not to get attention, not to be a wannabe emo, but to express myself in PRVIATE, ever noticed i havent fricken posted any poems except that one on THIS forum, and one other forum which supports with disorders/whatever, hm? Just because you've had some friends that self harmed and not for attention seeking it doesn't mean that the rest of the world doesnt have a large percentage who do it for attention seeking ;/

I didn't ask for ones that are depressive, I wanted to know which ones you thought were 'gay stupid and depressing', not all 'emo/goth' songs are like that. So name me the ones you think are 'gay stupid and depressing'.

Right to be honest I don't want or need to know your full name or your family. Them two hold no revelance as to this subject on suicidal poems. I never claimed to be a 'know it all'. So again your claim is false as I never claimed to know it all. You know more about self harm? Oh because of the marks on your arm? Well no that doesn't mean you do, and you don't know more about self harm than me because you don't know how much I know on self harm. I am not posting here to argue. Frankly I find this something of a petty thread... But my general interest in psychology has got the better of me and I would like to post my theory on cutting.
Of course, some cutting is a form of attention seeking, yet it would be foolish for us to generalise on that basis.
Most cutting is a form of control; those who cut do so because it makes them feel they have power, it is almost like no one else can hurt them as much as one can hurt themselves. This particular 'type' [horrible word to use] of cutters are the ones who keep it a secret, idealistically no one will ever find out that they are partaking in such activity. Only those who flaunt cutting are the ones who seek attention.
