Can you install updates without deleting everything, for example if you have build 6xxx and you want 7xxx Can you install it internaly rather than having to remove windows 7 completely and doing a fresh install?

You have to do a fresh install. You might want to wait for tomorrow when it is released onto the Microsoft site so you can get 7000 legally.
Lets set the stage on fire, and hollywood will be jealous.

Has anyone had problems installing nvidia drivers on a laptop at all?
My laptop refuses to install them as it believes another driver installation is open (it thinks itself isnt itself basically)Chippiewill.
