Jailbreak it and try to enable the wireless through bossprefs or something?
Probably won't work, but it's worth a try.

I believe it's the Sale of Goods Act, it's a little known law but it's basically 'A product should last a reasonable amount of time' no matter what the warranty and if an item hasn't lasted a reasonable amount of time, you have some-what consumer rights.

I'm not too sure about all of this, try PMing the member called 'Barmi' he generally knows what he's on about when it comes to the Law (And hopefully consumer rights).

Edit: Just read up on a few magazines and it turns out that you have the right to a full-refund or repair within the first few months of buying it, there's no date by law but after 2 months your case isn't very strong and considering it's almost 6 months down the line you don't stand much chance there.

Aw shame, I'm actually really annoyed at the moment, Is there any other laws that might be able to help me out, surely a product is ment to last a lifetime never mind a year and a bit. It's not fit for the purpose

For the price you've got to pay to get it fixed, why not just buy a new ipod touch?

A friend of mine said if your iPod isnt updated, the wifi wont work, which will drain your battery.

    So try updating?

You should get them told that basically if they do not offer you an alternate or refund then it really is a mistake for them. They can lose the difference of the cost of an itouch for your custom, or if they do not they will ultimately face the cost of losing several potential customers as you will make sure you spread your bad experience by word of mouth to as many people as possible.

Did you know that for every person you tell an experience it is multiplied by 10? So if you tell 1 person, in effect they will tell someone and so on... and it averages out at about 10 people for every one you tell.

I had trouble with Apple once basically made it clear to them that if they didnt just take the loss of that cost I would never buy anything again etc.

Just keep phoning up and demand that they give you it or you won't hang up lol.
    Ostinato...
