    Default iPod touch - Help

    Hi,

I bought an iPod touch first generation in October 2007, Recently I have encountered problems which are hardware faults,
This problem runs my battery down in a little over an hour and does not let me use the wifi function.

I rang the apple helpline, and I was told since it was out of warranty by a mere 3 months, There was nothing she could
do for me, and said that i can get you a discounted new one?

I'm really really outraged and disgusted, Are iPods, only ment to last for a year? I didn't even use it till December
as it was a Christmas present.

I'd like to take this further as I really dont think this is acceptable,

I dont belive the iPod is fit for the purpose it was sold as

-The battery runs out very quickly, I cant listen to music
-WIFI is not working, at all and it's why the battery is draining

    I was quoted for a fix €229!

Is there anything I can do under my legal rights as I think it's pathetic that This product should only be good for
one year, and then it's we don't care, but another one.

    Please reply,

    Thank you.

you went past your guarantee - you can't do much else tbh.

it may be wise to invest in a new ipod touch - maybe the 2nd generation touches have an improved battery life?

the battery is FINE, it's the wi-fi that's broken which drains my ipod.

I'm so pissed off it's not even funny, it's like throughing 200 odd pounds down the drain, for the ipod deciding to break 2 months late.

No warranty, no refunds or support.

There is nothing you can do about it. It is the law.

if the wifi isnt working then surely that means that its not turned on, meaning that the battery does not get drained?

When I go to settings, the Wi-Fi tab is grayed out, and no on or off button is displayed.

I was told on the phone that this means that the software can not find the wi-fi device and it's a hardware problem

I've restored it, reset it, all the standard procedures, and My understanding of it draining the battery is, the actual iPod cant find the wifi device, and the wifi devise is draining the battery as it's broken.

You can't do anything, ring up again and you'll get a different person... see what they say and don't mention what the other person said, usually you'll get told two completely different things.

I dont think so, I was speaking to the supervisor.

When i rang, i got connected to an Indian woman, she said that she will ring me back and told me that we might be able to make you an exception

then this woman "the supervisor" comes on who really is a moo moo, She tells me that we wont make you an exception because I have no friends and I like making peoples life a misery, then she put me on to the tech guy to figure out exactly what the problem was, and I said to him you're supervisor is a female dog and he started laughing rofl
