I still don't get it.. how was I telling someone not to break the rules?
I only said thread posted? I didn't report it because the super mods are useless.

Because by saying it has already been posted you are offering no useful information to the thread other than the fact you wish to moan at the user because they may have made a mistake. This prevents the thread going off topic and users flaming someone for something minor. This in effect stops further rules from being broken.
As for the super mods, how are they useless? They and the rest of the moderators cannot view everything and spot every offence as that would be highly impractical. That is why we have the report function so that users can aid us in helping you. If you refuse to report it and just post in the thread having a go at the user then you are basically being intolerant to helping a situation you feel needs attention.
That's kinda a really stupid rule to have.
Super mods take ages to respond to the reported post.
The rule has been around a very long time. It is not often broken but it stands as a barrier so that users do not take it upon themselves to tell others what they may have done wrong, this then allows people to get into arguments causing more disruption. That is why moderation is not done by any means of posting or replying to people in the public view.
Quite honestly, I posted at 5:09 AM in the morning (the hell was I doing up at 5 AM??) and was probably delirious. That said its pretty vanilla.
But RD has given his permission anyway.
It costs nothing to be a good friend.
