Right, I just got a PM saying "Leave the moderating to the moderators" yeah, well I haven't told people there breaking the rules at all?
    Hello,

In this post, you told another user that a thread on the same topic as his had already been created.

This is an issue best dealt with by the Moderation team, and could have been flagged up by you by reporting the post (click the flashing triangle next to it). By posting yourself, you are in breach of the forum rules (A13. Leave moderating to the moderators).

Also, as a further point, your thread was posted after his, so your post was in error. Please bear this message in mind in future.

    Regards,

    ReviewDude (Forum Moderator)
I don't see how that is telling someone not to break the rules :S

Not being rude but I don't bother to report posts because they get dealt with 30 minutes later.

    Hey,

Well its a rule not to create multiple threads on the same topic, therefore you were telling them they broke the rule. With a situation like this, the reason you got that PM was as you said, the thread would probably be closed, so multiple posts saying this has been created before would be unecessary. However I still suggest reporting it as mods might miss it.

Obviously its a very minor thing which is why you just got a friendly PM reminder

My apologies for not being clearer, after reading it back - it is a little confusing if you're not aware of the rule on multiple posting on threads!

Just out of interest, since when was posting a PM on the forum allowed? Has there been a rule change that I've missed?

You are correct! Posting private messages is still not allowed. So i don't know if Nvrspk is just allowing this one.

ha is that a clever way of saying it without breaking the rule first mentioned in this post? & no there hasn't been one i don't think!?
also i'm sure i've told people they've broken rules before (try not to... obv :rolleyes & haven't been told off for it but isn't this only in Habbo section? cause isn't there a rule that you're not allowed to say "already posted" ?? seems like it

& he's obviously allowing him to post it if he didn't edit it after he posted.....
that pm sounds stupid anyway imo (no offence), telling him he was wrong 'bout what he posted & being patronizing telling him how to report posts

Regardless, I'll give my permission on this one - it's a genuine issue, not just flamebaiting or whatnot

Don't really think it's that much of a problem to post a pretty much template PM from a moderator. It's sent in a professional manner with no private information that either party would want quiet? Clearly that's the point in the PM rule, so people don't post other people's private content...

As an administrator, I wouldn't take action on this thread. We have introduce the rule generally, for the reason above. It saves us a lot of complaints from people about private details or info being posted on the public forums.
