Duno, to me sex seems like a more intimate thing, in a relationship you generally get to the point of kissing before the point of sex? Equally sex in a relationship often includes alot of kissing anyway and biologically sex releases a great deal more chemicals related to bonding and relationship forming than kissing "/

Meaningless sex on the other hand isnt particularly intimate, but nore is meaningless kissing. For example in a dare friends will probably kiss, but are far less likely to have sex as a result of it, which to me again generally points to people, at least subconsciously, seeing sex as a more intimate action "/

You can have a kiss with someone and not really care, or it could be someone you have wanted for a while or are really into or something so it is more intimate.

Likewise you could have a quick bit of sex going on lol or have a good bitta passionate which is defos much more intimate.

I voted sex for defos tbh. I think if you are with someone you are really into and love or whatever, a kiss can be intimate yes - but totally trusting each other and (as cheesy as it sounds) being the closest to another human as physically possible must be more intimate.
