Just think that you'll be pain free once it's over Paul. If you explain to your dentist before hand you have such phobias then (s)he will be bound to go easier with you baby. Girly pants.

Frankly I don't see why you should be put to sleep for a two-minute procedure. It doesn't hurt and you won't see any blood.
I had to be put to sleep when I was 11 due to a huge fear and havent been since. I went 2 weeks ago, now 15, and my fear is there but I can cope with it. They put some bubblegum gel on my mouth before the injection, which I couldnt see due to sunglasses, and I felt nothing at all. The injection then stopped the pain during the 2 root fillings I only felt the like water jet thing but it didnt hurt
and yeah when I was 11 I had panick attacks at the dentist
The other day I was in a toilet.
A voice came from the cubicle next to me: "Hello mate, how are you doing?"
I didn't want to be rude, so I said, "Not too bad, thanks."
I heard the voice again. "So, what are you up to?"
Again I answered, "Just having a quick ****... How about yourself?"
Then I heard him say "Sorry, mate, I'll have to call you back. I've got some **** in the cubicle next to me answering everything I say."
You just gotta face it. Experience it once and hopefully you'll not fret anymore.
I think they can give you a 'gas' via a facemask to help you. It must be terrible for you with such a phobia. Only thing I can say is that Dentists are virtually painfree these days and an extraction is much better than a filling even. Perhaps you or someone like your mother could talk to the surgery in advance to get some advice? I am sure this happens all the time for them.
Take care.![]()

Couple of years ago I had to have 2 teeth removed because I was having braces, first tooth I had with numbing, I didn't like the feeling of them yanking it out and I don't like injections, so I decided to have the second one done while asleep, had to go ages away to a special dentist place, they inject the stuff to put you asleep into your vein in your arm, luckily the dentist missed the vein the first time so I got 2 injections, one of the reasons I wanted sleep. Then when I woke up I had to go lie down in this room like some alcoholic, with about 5 other people who were swaying about like they had just drunk a bottle of neat vodka, then I got lifted out of the dentist by my mum, infront of aload of people in the waiting room, looking as if I had something wrong with me..
DONT DO ITTSDRTDGYTys
The sleep was nice but it was horribleand the dentist was this big fat scary gay bloke
ALSO the dentist scared me by saying "You might let out all your secrets while you are asleep"

If you have a tooth extraction, I think you can be put to sleep if you're really scared but you can also be sedated which is easier for you. I was sedated to have my tooth out and I didn't have a clue what wa going on, I didn't feel a thing and I didn't remember anything about it apart from asking to see the tooth when it came out lol
You just feel unstable on your feet and drunk afterwards but it wears off quite fast.
Dentists are horrible, I don't think anyone enjoys going to the dentist but unfortunately it is something we must all face if we want a healthy mouth and teeth. Basically, you either see a dentist or have awful teeth and suffer with painful toothaches for ages.
I hope you manage to conquer your fear and get to a dentist![]()
