At the moment mods aren't directed to deal with 'effing' as filter avoidance.

The avoiding filter rule is probably one of the most complex and crazy rules on Habbox Forum.

Personally I believe that we're all mature enough to have the filter removed but I don't believe nvrspk4 supports this idea.

I don't believe that a thread is needed to point out something as minor as this - if it was an error (and it's not) it would be easily resolved by reporting it and letting a super moderator look over it.

I agree with both Catzsy & Immenseman that "effing" probably should come under the avoidance rule however we cannot deal with it until nvrspk4 confirms whether it is or isn't.

Recently the word "shiz" was confirmed as avoiding the filter (apologies for doing it there - it's an example) so hopefully 'effing' will be the next one to be classified.

i agree with removing the filter, personally i'd never use filtered words directed straight at someone, i'd use it to show emotions (mainly anger) at something, and im not going to go, "Oh thats ruddy ridiculous" if i dislike something.

    Agreed.

Obviously some would abuse it however mods aren't here for no reason.. I'm sure we could deal with it

Afterall if someone says "you ******* *****" it's going to get removed whether it's asterisks or letters.

looks like he skipped over the avoiding the filter bit, and just went straight to rude. Dunno if he got warned/infracted for it but it looks like a fail from a users point of view.

Well, I'm very sorry about that mistake. I am still learning, and the User just got a friendly pm for that instance.

I hope you reported the post using the button, as it then would have been looked at by a super moderator and would have been dealt with, if there was bad content. I am not the only moderator in that section, and we work as a team, so surely other moderators/super moderators would have viewed that post too?

The Only other Trial I am on right now is News, and to be honest when you have plenty of free time, it really is fine to have 2 trials at once, and if I believe I can offer them plenty of my time, then I think I should be permitted to do so.

Once again I am very sorry that this error of Judgement on my behalf has caused you so much concern. I will do my best to up my game from this point forward.

Occasionly there will be things which mods don't pick up on. We are all Human, and sometimes mistakes are unnavoidable.

    Sorry Once again.

*Edit* Looking at Oli's post, Have I actually done anything *that* wrong then? When I saw this thread, and noticed my name in the first post, I was extremely worried that this was going to turn into the "unproffesional Moderation" thread.

If 'Meet the Fockers' is allowed as a movie title then I think effing and focking should be allowed... it's not hurting anyone.

I see it like this. If when I went to school I said fricking hell I wouldn't have been told off. If I said effing hell I probably would have done.

In general I don't think the filter should be removed. We'd be subject to a lot more swearing which doesn't create a nice atmosphere across the board. Makes it look a very daunting place to new members if there were swear words in every other post.

Don't use Habbo as an example - that isn't a forum. On Habbo Forums, the official sulake ran one there is still a filter. On habbo you see the swear word for about 30 seconds on here you'd see it until the thread was inactive, which could be months.

You raise very good points here Jake on both counts.

    I particularly like the:

I believe this would be an appropriate way to approach the filter avoidance issue.

    3000th post woop.
