The same reason anyone feels the need to swear in real life, books, media, etc. To convey a certain emotion.
Also, people already feel the need to swear on this forum - it's just filtered..

So you're saying it's not possibly to convey emotions in other ways?
If I'm honest, I don't take notice of swearing because I see it as pointless but it makes me obtain a bad impression of the person.

I am not trying to get something fixed. I am simply trying to ask if habbox could cater for the older and younger generation. If the older generation wish not to see swear words they can turn the filter on. Yes I agree we should maintain a mature conversation were we don't have to swear, however some of the swear words can be used in different context. Also going back to point one, why do sulake let habbo's have the option?

But while that context where they can be used offensively is still there, the filter will stick.
Invent; As you said, extreme situations, you shouldn't need to on a forum.
@DarkEnemy
I have no idea why Sulake implemented that, nor do I see the point in it.

Why?..when you can just warn/infract the user for acting immaturely...also who's saying that the person who the user is offending also has the filter disabled?...
I also said "certain" circumstances. If I'm using the forum to vent my anger or something in my day or want to emphasize how funny something is then I may feel the need to swearInvent; As you said, extreme situations, you shouldn't need to on a forum..
Yes, but if someone avoids the filter now, a moderator simply edits there post. Why wouldn't this be able to be done?

defo not, it'd make it look so ugly. on habbo it is there for 30 seconds, it'd be here for years on hxf. on habbo forums they still have a filter, so comparing it to a client based thingy isn't really significant.
As you have highlighted, creates problems as to who has the filter on and who doesn't which would result in unfair moderation, which would result in more complaints. People successfully vent their anger or display humour in their posts now without swearing, why fix something that's not broken?Why?..when you can just warn/infract the user for acting immaturely...also who's saying that the person who the user is offending also has the filter disabled?...

My point exactly? Why change anything if the same thing is just going to be done after the change?

Do you mean in VB you can have a filter switch? I did not think that was possible but then I haven't been involved much in acp for a while.
