Alexandra!
Probably although I was wary of choosing an older car for my first car as they tend to be less reliable and have problems.
My car was 2002 and it hasn't been perfect, she needed a new gearbox only 9 months after I bought her, I guess it's luck of the draw really, just don't go for too high mileage, i'd say anything over 60/70k on the clock would be quite unreliable.

Although generally, the older the car, the cheaper the insurance so maybe the costs would balance out?
I think it's important to look at low insurance groups when buying your first car, it will help keep premiums low. This site is good for checking the insurance group of a car before proceeding to buy. http://www.parkers.co.uk/insurance/#ig=0

That is odd, i find cars with a "high milage" reliable still. My car had about 100k km (so thats what, 60mile or summit? (i dunno exactly) and its run fine. Its turning twelve this year too..Probably although I was wary of choosing an older car for my first car as they tend to be less reliable and have problems.

same. my moms merc has over 100k and it's an 07, the 02 7 has 220k but that's not that reliable. i think my honda is coming up on 80k pretty soon? honz will go forever!!!!1
I'm at a point in my life where I don't care if you like me or you don't. If you like me, cool. If you don't, meh.
100k km/60k m isn't too bad. Probably wouldn't advise going much higher though.
It has 117,000 miles on it
Alexandra!
Found another one for a bit more but it's a 2001 and 77,000 miles.
