    Default First car.

I'm 17 soon so i'm looking for my first car to practise in while I take my lessons, so I was wondering what cars would be good to take a look at for my first and would I be able to buy it even though I'm still under 17?

    Thanks
    Alexandra!

    Vauxhall Corsa
    Renault Clio
    are two suggestions.

Small cars, with a small/medium engine. Itl save you abit of money on insurance

You can buy a car whenver you want mate! You just can't drive it on the roads until your 17, provisional licence holder or not.

I have a 2003 Clio (which is my first car which I bought a couple of days before my 17th) and it's fantastic - I love it. But good first cars are Fiat Punto, Ford Fiesta, Clio, Vuaxhall Corsa (basically any that fall into the "supermini" category). Hell even smaller cars like a Peugeot 106 or a Citroen Saxo will be even cheaper to run.

For cheap insurance premiums don't go any bigger than a 1.4 litre, mines is only a 1.2 and I pay about £1k a year on insurance.

Clio, Corsa, Yaris, they're the ones that pop to mind when I think small reliable cars.

Don't go anywhere near a Saxo. It'll cost you a fortune to insure!
    Clios are good for insurance.

A lot of teenagers are steering towards the clio now, the clio is going to be the new saxo I think, so so many people around here our age are getting it... so I think the insurance will go sky high soon lol ... not that I know anything about it but whatevz.

Like everyone else said - small cars.

    Good luck
