how do you know that suarav? I wouldn't like falling furni, considering 80% of them are scams. Have been since like 2007. People are into more innovative games like... Multitasking and... Well, idk.
Well if they see habbox ones regularly, and not being scams, they might start trusting it .
And I am going off the fact when I joined, I enjoyed stuff like FF, Bingo, races more. Also whenever I host simple games, my room gets more noobs than older members.

noobs are likely to be 9 year olds pretending to be 12 year olds that haven't the foggiest about running around a room to sit on chairs let alone signing up to a forum/ using a fansite frequently. You need to attract an audience that you know are gonna stick around. Simple events, no matter how frequent they are, won't ensure that.

Ah oki A wide range of events then
But I know its hard, but just for a month due to the merge I think it might be very important.

Yeah I agree completely. Events are a great way of advertising the forum (even if it's just getting the 'habbox' name more widely known. The events team do a brilliant job, and I know that all events are fun, and the rooms are always full. I suppose you have to have a balance in terms of events really, making sure that they are unique, but also a few old favourites thrown in too. When I first started Habbo, I only knew how to play Fallin furni, and bingo- the rest scared me and I didn't play those till later.

I wouldn't mind doing an event weekly if people wanted, maybe a weekly quiz on the weeks topical news or something. Like these news quiz shows you get on TV I guess. Perhaps a couple of permanent fixtures on Habbo would be good after the merge or something, and perhaps it wouldn't hurt for other departments to help promote us on Habbo somehow.

Anyway keep up the great work events team!

Yeppp Falling Furni etc are what most new members play (I think anyway). Its different and quite fun when you join. It might get borign after but when you are new its fun.
I wouldn't mind doing events one in a while after my exams.

I am presuming each event lasts an hour.

I was thinking with the merge, maybe hire more events staff if possible and try and do a Games event every hour from 5pm - 10pm and ensure the room stays on top throughout. Its hard but I think it will be essential after the merge. In the room, advertise rare values, competitions and forums regularly (but especially the rare values).

This is because, when people join Habbo, they mainly use the Games room. How are they supposed to know about Habbox and its rare values? I know when I joined in late 2004, I had no clue which fansites existed. I know people used rare values but as I was new and a noob, people laughed when I asked where they get rare values from. I had to pay someone to tell me "/
Maybe I am the odd one out having to pay but the majority who join will not know about Habbox if a games room isnt on top regularly advertising rare values in the room.

Just an idea as it will be essential to advertise as much as possible after the merge - and Games rooms are the best way.
I'm already trying to get as many staff (especially international as possible) ready for the merge and applications are currently open (hint). I've also got some previous EOs and other Habbox staff who said they'd be willing to help out and host a few events so that we can make sure we do have plenty events on at different times ready for the merge. Unfortunately lots of people have exams atm so it's harder for people to do as many.

@ the games room being the best way bit, I thought the trading section would be another good way to advertise Habbox and in particular the rare values, sooo I've started up this. All of the rooms on that page have Habbox.com for rare values or something similar in the room desc and the majority of them are regularly popular for hours so hopefully that will help. After the merge we can target international casino owners etc. too.

I was also thinking about creating a Habbox takeshis castle with Habbox staff hosting. That'd stay popular for over an hour and also attract more than just the usual Habbox eventy people and as far as I'm aware they're also quite popular on other hotels.

We used to do a weekly event every Sunday (ok it didn't last for long) but the prize for that was forum VIP and when it was done it attracted a lot more forum members and also encouraged new members to sign up since the prize was a forum prize. I'm already looking at doing that again I just need a decent event idea so if you have any feel free to suggest them

News are welcome to do a weekly event or events whenever they want

Er I think that covered all of the main points, sorry if I missed anything.

Applications are open (hints again) and hopefully by getting some more staff we will be able to have more events to please you all. Hopefully since the merge is this month, we will get loads more international people apply and then that will get events at all different times.

With the weekly event thing, we have been planning to do one. We used to but some how it just ended. Hopefully when we do have one again, it will last.

I think the best way to kickstart a campaign for new members are giveaways which I haven't seen many of since I came back. There is never a shortage of habbos there. If they were organised throughout the day and possibly night when the merge happens. I think Seacat and Sunshine-Cutie did the best giveaways. There was a waiting room with staff manning. The giveaway room was separated into 2/3 queues and and then 2/3 members of staff would give the furni away. The radio was involved and staff in the waiting room did competitions etc etc. I am sure Roxy could organise something like this with her staff then we would attract new members. The events team do a great job to keep the members happy but these are not really attracting new members as others have said in the thread. Also request for donations for the giveaways was made to the forum well in advance. I would be happy to contribute and do one if necessary. Needs a bit of organisation and commitment from the staff but well worth it.

We do have a ton of giveaways planned for the merge. Exact details right now aren't 100% but we will have quite a few going on. Sorry about the blunt post I am doing 100 things at once lol.
