Now if this were to be replaced by allowing the applicant to have 15 minutes of air time then the number taken to do each application is heavily multiplied. Another reason it does not really work is the fact that applicants may not suit the time that has been allocated to them (learned this from HxHD also).

It is a good idea if it is only small amount of applications and not the large amount that the Radio always seems to get
thats wt i mean only choose like the top 15 of 16 and then put them on 5 or 10 min trials

Sorry but i dont agree with this only reason being is, its alright having Under 10 Listerners on the test server, your going to be much more relaxed - which is great don't get me wrong, and you will be happy just djing for like 10 people.

But when your chucked on the Real SHOUTcast server its going to be VERY Different, you will have more requests, shoutouts as well as a higher listerner amount,

In my opinion its better if we chuck trialists in the deep end (might sound harsh but its my opinion) where they will have the nerves for their first couple of shows, and then they will get comfortable with the amount of people listening, Which allows them to Improve.

I don't know if you lot will agree on this statement but i think ALL Trialists improve throughout the trial, and progress as time goes on.

Thats my Opinion on this subject, but i can see where you are coming from Smiffy, +rep.

    Thanks,
    Aidy xox

Habtips did this when i was management - the amount of times trialists went on it and just abused it for practise was unbelieveable you would need to change the pass every day

It's a tricky one because sometimes you can't fully judge someone on a 60 second clip. In my past experiences when I was listening to radio applications I always wanted to hear more and it was harder to judge. This may also be the reason why not all trialists may be such successful choices (although the bulk were).

But, I wouldn't of ever pushed for this because as Hayley said it's all too time constraining for the manager to even listen for a few minutes with the sheer amount of applicants.

It's a good idea I think. Sometimes you can't see the quality of a persons DJing until they're on air and at times it really helps a lot. I like this idea.

Thing is a radio costs a great amount of money and a private station would be a bit, I'm not sure. Pricey.

It has its pros and cons.

I think we should still do the 60 second clip but it's a nice idea. I don't think Jess would have time for things like that. But if they don't know how to work Sam nicely, then they shouldn't apply until they know how to work it simply. It may take a while but yeah, it's good later on. +rep for the good idea anyway.
