    Actually, what kind of thing are you doing in your computing course?

    I know that at the Uni I'm looking at going to they like it if you can use all 3 OSs, Windows, some flavour of Linux and MacOS so you can use the OS which best suits the job

    Get a 13" Macbook Pro, look into educational discount too. Windows runs nicely on them.

    Get the MacBook if you can afford it. Like properly afford it because you'll end up spending ~£150 or more on accessories and insurance (or at least I did, because I'm terrified I'll lose it or break it)
    If you can't afford it, Dell make some very nice Core i7 (although I conceed I don't know what that is) Windows laptops for ~£400 which seems reasonable.
