    Default Macbook or another laptop

My laptop is about to break soon I can just tell and this one sucks anyway it has windows xp and it keeps going in the shop for repairs and i'm not even doing anything to it. So i'm looking to get a new one. I wouldn't be that bothered about getting a new one as I don't do much on it anyway but i'm starting college again in September which is a computing course and i'm starting some new projects which involve photoshop&illustrator so i'll definitely need a new laptop with good specs and which is fast.
I'm not sure whether to get a macbook or just another laptop with windows on.

Vote on the poll and if you vote for the windows laptop show me some decent laptops which you would suggest.
    Gracias.
    Alexandra!

If you can afford it get the Apple laptop. Personally I'd not bother with the "MacBook" and get the 13" MacBook Pro. You can install Windows on it too in case you need it.

If I was getting a non Apple machine I'd get something from Dell Outlet. You can get decent specs for great prices.

QFT. People say Apple's Macs are overpriced, but I have yet to find a laptop that beats their MacBooks in terms of build quality etc.

This, although if I were you I'd get a 15" one, since the 13" one has shared vram. Also try to get it on ebay, you can get them so much cheaper that way if they have a little cosmetic damage.

I'd personally go for the 13" Macbook pro... I find the size perfect for carrying around

13" or 13.3" laptops are good Quite rare though. Depends on what you want it for really. A MacBook is overpriced, but has decent enough build quality to make it justifiable. If you're just going to install Windows 7 on it, you might as well go with Dell or HP (depending on what HP range you go with).

I bought the HP Pavilion dm3-1020ea entertainment in March, and it's survived quite a hard smack on the floor. It doesn't have a built-in DVD drive, but it does come with a USB lightscribe DVD drive. That's one I can recommended

Personally, if you want to get the best productivity out of your work or whatever, stick with what you know and get a windows laptop.
Never argue with an idiot, he'll drag you down to his level, and beat you with experience.

Any ideas what you will be doing on your computing course.

For example if your going to be using Windows basted stuff only it may be pointless getting a Mac.

Depends on what you're using your laptop for.

I would like a Macbook for show really. I much prefer windows due to the larger amount of software etc..
