I'm quite disappointed that The Stig's identity has been revealed publicly. I for one am quite interested to read his biography though, I adore Topgear!

So will Ben Collins be fired and they get a new person for whatever tasks he did? It is a shame he had to do this though. I love Top Gear!

Just in time for them to get a new Stig. I mean, maybe this was all set up so they wanted to get a new Stig in? Seems like a convenient time for it to happen in between filming sessions.

Thing is he wasn't always the stig and that's why they had him unidentifiable, because some car companies won't let their cars be raced around a track as fast as possible by anybody but their own representatives.

Ben Collins was merely the Top Gear version of the Stig who would drive the cars when either A) Top Gear owned the car or B) the car company let them, but most of the big companies provide drivers - which is why the Stig was formed like he was so nobody could tell who he is.

This is wrong because the Stig was always very short.

Lol, what's that matter - you never see them stood next to eachother or see them often enough to know. You only have to look at the logic behind it if it's true, if you were a company which were lending a TV programme a £100,000+ supercar for them to race it fast around a circuit, would you not want your own driver doing it? This is why the Stig was made anonymous.

Not always, deposits, fees, insurance. Some might insist on their own drivers, but most probably wouldn't. If they let Clarkson drive it around, what's the harm in letting Collins race it around an empty track?
They might keep the White Stig, obviously just a new driver.
