With the rep bar thing that is currently being debated - god knows why such a thing is allowed - we wouldn't want new users being put down that they only have one dark green bar :S Why not make it a nice bright blue - just to make them feel good?
You have always had a poor attitude towards new users Dom. The system works quite well, we have a userrank system not based on classification and the rewards you get for userranks are forum privelidges which tend to be hidden. A new member is just as valued at Habbox as a member who has been here from the start.

This is when it was introduced.

It was considered over a period of time and I can't think of anybody complaining about it until today. In fact everybody has enjoyed the new more generous avatar and signature limits. It was a very good move - members feel valuable as soon as they have posted a few times.
What was so difficult about giving bronze and silver members more perks then? The user ranks themselves need not be changed.

After viewing Catzsy's posted thread, it seems the changes were made to give the newer users additional privileges. That said I think the changes had much more merit than simply changing Bronze to Gold. Although I would have more supported just shifting the privileges downwards and keeping the ranks. Regardless, the argument still stands: does it impede your enjoyment of the forum that much that ranks now start at gold?

wth why does anyone care? Its only a rank, if they shouldnt care about being bronze then you shouldnt care about them being gold.

ive argued bout some pretty pointless things on this forum before but cmon.

That bit doesn't make sense. Users have ALWAYS been given more privileges the more they post. Changing the colours was not needed, and was just like every other bit of feedback by Immense at the time. Absolutely everything was about 'making new users feel better and more confident.' Which was a dumb argument from the start.

If I remember rightly it wasn't just feedback from Immenseman but Immenseman befriended a group of newer users and asked about their first experiences of Habbox Forum, these users posted within the feedback thread and I agreed with what they were saying, they raised valid points and we listened.

Ayd's proved exactly why we removed "Bronze" because look what he said "isn't anything amazing" and then how "gold should give you respect" - why on earth new members arent entitled to respect I am absolutely baffled.

Totally agree, and Hectix you can't just say someone has a negative attitude towards new members, if we said that about you you would just kick off. It's very rude.

Also, if a new user a 'valued' the same then we all want the same privileges, all with our own coloured usertitles and whatever they get.

Because post count and join date directly correlate to penis size, everyone knows that.

    No.

I respect new users much more than most the (although now banned) users on here. However, I firmly believe changing the colour of some stars was some pathetic move to make people 'feel more valued'. How, just out of interest, does a new user feel more valued? As I argued at the time, and as I will continue to argue now, after a few months (which it has now been), a gold member is recognised as the 'newb' on the forum - so all that has changed is what colour people are when they are new?

I am pretty sure new users could have been given more privileges without changing the stars. Mind you, I don't really care as it hasn't and won't affect me. With VIP starts are hidden anyway so it doesn't really matter :L

    --

Although on the old argument; why not give new users colourful names and VIP features - we wouldn't want them feeling small now, would we?
