Yeah I agree. Posts moved to a forum where post count doesnt go up, the users involved are warned, the thread continues.

This was just a fest of arguing and rule breaking that was getting unacceptable and out of hand so I closed it to prevent any further arguments or rule breaking. There is nothing stopping you creating a new thread about the history of Japan if you want to.
Thanks for re-opening the WWE thread Rosie, and fair enough about the member of staff.

And nah, I was just using that Japan thread as an example because I think the user who recently signed up wouldn't be too happy to see his thread closed due to other people.

Would be nice to get some kind of 'rule' for moderators to remove the argumentative posts though I suppose.

Aw, the Japan topic got closed. Seems flipflop likes going around and annoying people. The thread should be re-opened and the rude posts removed, as some people were actually having a valid (on topic) debate, or were trying to, at least. Plus it's a genuine topic with genuine replies, seems unfair that everything is ruined and it gets closed thanks to some fool out to cause trouble.

Well I will check the thread and see if it can be salvaged. It was pretty bad though with about 7/8 people involved in the rule breaking. This is not normal procedure but it was an interesting thread. It certainly couldn't be done all the time.

Well I appreciate what you say but sometimes it is the only option as unless it's closed the arguements and rulebreaks just continue and we would be forever just moving posts out which just wouldn't be feasible.

As suggested I have just salvaged this thread as it was a popular one and will re-open it but it is not normal procedure I have just used my discretion on it so I hope you have saved it That thread will be monitored closely though so I hope those who were the cause of it being closed will respect those who wish to discuss the subject rationally and calmly.

I don't see why moderators can't just email the argumentative users or make a post telling them to calm down. When a thread is closed for an argument between two people, I find the moderator's actions more annoying than the two arguing :/

I don't see the trouble with arguing even when it becomes personal provided the rules of the forum concerning no swearing are observed - if somebody starts going personal in a debate/argument then that only shows up on them and hurts their own side/point of view. Whether its a heated debate or just an arguments between users on Spam, a lot of people on here need to grow up and learn that if they can't stand the heat then they need to get out of the kitchen.

I have to say, I remember when I was having a debate about free speech and ironically the thread was closed.

It's not just arguing, Gomme it is rule breaking too. Also don't you think we don't tell them? Closing a thread is always a last resort when all else fails and in the one cited there was about 6/7 people who broke the rules. In the one where two people were arguing I could not take action against the one as they were staff so to halt it I temporarily closed it as mentioned above. I don't think you are giving us enough credit here tbh.

I think the moderation balance is usually quite nice to be honest, a thread will only get closed if a moderator feels the argument will continue if it remains open and yes this does ruin the thread for other people but that is the fault of nobody but those arguing.

Most of the time a thread will be closed for a "cool down" and posts removed, however if it's one of those threads where you can tell it will continue there's no point - especially if it's dragged others in with the rule breaking.

Actually, i simply help people out & post some reply that shouldnt even matter yet, everyone takes it serious & they always turn it into 1 big arguement. Especially the stuff they have been saying, yet i'm the one getting blamed for all of this ? It shows how many rude people there are, here at Habbox.

Another thing, i'm not the one suppose to be getting punished, considering the people that started the arguements & are even still sadly posting on them right now with threats, it shows how much more poor, members of Habbox are.
