Yeah I agree. Posts moved to a forum where post count doesnt go up, the users involved are warned, the thread continues.![]()

Thanks for re-opening the WWE thread Rosie, and fair enough about the member of staff. The first one was temporarily closed because I could not take any action against one of the arguing participants and it would got out of hand if I hadn't. I have now re-opened it.
This was just a fest of arguing and rule breaking that was getting unacceptable and out of hand so I closed it to prevent any further arguments or rule breaking. There is nothing stopping you creating a new thread about the history of Japan if you want to.
And nah, I was just using that Japan thread as an example because I think the user who recently signed up wouldn't be too happy to see his thread closed due to other people.
Would be nice to get some kind of 'rule' for moderators to remove the argumentative posts though I suppose.![]()

Well I will check the thread and see if it can be salvaged. It was pretty bad though with about 7/8 people involved in the rule breaking. This is not normal procedure but it was an interesting thread. It certainly couldn't be done all the time.I agree, if an arguments distracts from the actual topic then the argumentative posts should be removed. A thread should never be closed because of an argument unless it was created for that reason.
Aw, the Japan topic got closed. Seems flipflop likes going around and annoying people. The thread should be re-opened and the rude posts removed, as some people were actually having a valid (on topic) debate, or were trying to, at least. Plus it's a genuine topic with genuine replies, seems unfair that everything is ruined and it gets closed thanks to some fool out to cause trouble.

I wrote a huge reply to the Japan thread and when I clicked submit it was closed:@

Well I appreciate what you say but sometimes it is the only option as unless it's closed the arguements and rulebreaks just continue and we would be forever just moving posts out which just wouldn't be feasible.
As suggested I have just salvaged this thread as it was a popular one and will re-open it but it is not normal procedure I have just used my discretion on it so I hope you have saved itThat thread will be monitored closely though so I hope those who were the cause of it being closed will respect those who wish to discuss the subject rationally and calmly.
I don't see why moderators can't just email the argumentative users or make a post telling them to calm down. When a thread is closed for an argument between two people, I find the moderator's actions more annoying than the two arguing :/
