    They're not majorly different.

    I did try to install Kubuntu on my laptop but for some reason I can't create a new partition with unallocated space.

    Though I don't have a problem with Unity's performance, I hope by the time they release Oneiric they fix some of the bugs. For example, Unity completely herps the derp if you adjust Compiz.
