    Question Linux OS - Ubuntu

So today I got out my old laptop and installed a Linux OS on it (Ubuntu), I think it is actually quite good, I've never touched a Linux OS before and my first impressions are good. Have you ever tried a Linux OS, if so which one? How do you feel about Linux Operating Systems as a whole? Discuss.

It's stupid to think of it as a replacement for the end user, keep it to servers. Especially with Ubuntu's new Ubiquity look, it's 1. ripped from OS X, 2. slow as hell.

The only things I use it for now is Pen Testing, servers and internet filtering at work.

@Recursion - I like Ubiquity, it looks nice, even if it is ripped from Mac OS X, and it's not slow - you must be running a computer from the 90s.

Tried it on my desktop (Core i5 @ 4GHz, 8GB RAM, HD5850), tried it on my MacBook (Core2Duo, 2GB RAM, 9400M), tried it on my netbook (Atom 1.6GHz, 2GB RAM, Intel HD), ~*~all~*~ of them ran Ubiquity like a dog. I don't know what's happened but Ubuntu is terrible now.
