Does this "abuse" actually go further than people just saying that the questions are crap? That's as bad as I've ever seen it, not that I'm a regular visitor during quizzes. As for it being difficult to find hosts, that surely can't be true considering how often I've seen people volunteer to do it, even for an unofficial quiz just when people are bored and want one

What I didn't like was the fact that it was going bellies up and a Senior Staff said they weren't hosting, not best interests at heart? If they were busy fair does and I'm not blaming her and she did her best but just saying she wasn't hosting did get peoples backs up.

@FlyingJesus; the abuse was given due to someone informing us the first 10 questions were about films, that was the main part of the abuse.

last week the host got a bit of abuse cos she asked a question and gave the answer straight after lmao. just ignore if people say the q are **** and get on with it. imo we should have a team hxhd quiz get more of the community involved!! have a rota and make EVERYBODY host at least 1 week and it'll be fair.

Well I had no questions prepared. I can't do it off the top of my head just there and then. Andii didn't have his questions written out either so it wasn't like he could give them to me to carry on or I would have. At the end of the day, it was Andiis turn to host and because of internet problems he didn't make it. 5 mins in me and maria were scrambling to think of questions of the top of our head and it was disorganised but not really my fault when we were given no time to prepare.

As with most feedback threads, I think we're in danger of going overboard and making some quite sweeping generalisations. It appears that everything was planned in advance this week and a series of unfortunate events led to it going slightly off course. Just because there's a feedback thread, it doesn't mean the silliest little things need picking at! I've never really understood why someone would get upset over harsh comments in an official Habbox room though. In events, I always advise warning > kick > kick and ban. The most the host will read is three insults and the user is gone - simple.

Here's an extract from our Events Staff Handbook which may be useful to staff hosting the SNQ:

So yeah basically people saying the questions were rubbish, which is kinda fair if they're all from one category. The best advice for staff under such circumstances is:

I'm not saying that there ought to be a regulated list of possible questions and answers, but for the quiz to be successful it really ought to be written out and planned as fully as possible well before the event, rather than being a "let's see where this goes" kind of experience

Oh don't worry I'm not going to do their job for them! It's just a list of categories and sites to spark ideas so they can come up with a good list of questions. Whilst it would be nice for staff to prepare their questions in advance, the quick-fix solution would probably be to type out a 1000 questions for HxHD Staff to use in the future. Perhaps management could make a thread in the respective staff forum for staff to contribute 50 questions each or whatever (it can't be that difficult; I tend to just do them off the top of my head)!

I don't know what the current deal is on staff spam (has it been reinstated? idk) but that actually seems like a good idea for a general staff thread, and then hosts can just pick and choose questions at random without only being able to draw from their own particular knowledge. It doesn't even matter really if it's things that can easily be googled or whatever since most people do that for answers they don't already know anyway!
