It was great to have it but it wasnt very prepared at all and the host left half way through

I think they need to be organised more so the host is picked maybe a day or two before, so it doesn't cause 'outrage' by habbo people

half of the problem is that the managers are never online to organise it and rely too heavily on their senior staff without pulling their weight themselves

Andii got mad and threw his toys out of the pram. That's like an event host rage quitting because someone called them fat. Get on with it sheesh.

yeah ikr. they should take on the comments too that people give them. i know all the complaints can come across harsh at first but it's stupid when there's like 1000000 questions about films (as obviously that's really unfair on some people as they may not have any knowledge with films) and at least with mixed topics there's a bit of everyone.

i think a lot more preparation should go into these as this is the second week running when it's been **** lol. it's really not hard to get some decent questions ready.

Yeah, this quiz tonight was by far the worst I've seen in a long time. Staff not sending the host questions, restarting half way through using the same questions so people could pretype and just the overall quiz in general.

It's not just this one, they are volunteers but I got told that some staff get abused when hosting thus don't like doing it. When they become staff at the Help Desk they should expect that not everyone will like them, not everyone will be happy but that doesn't mean that they should leave and not finish the quiz when they are offended? They need to have more of a backbone.

As Lizzy said you need a bit more planning for the quiz, make sure you have the questions ready and have a variety? I mean, the host tonight said the first 10 were on movies, that's not the SNQ at all, it should be General Knowledge. It's not hard to google questions if it goes belly up the first time. Those SNQ's work better with variety, with no topics just random questions!

I'll add more later, sometimes the quizzes are great and fun, but sometimes they can be really unorganised too.

I am not blaming anyone for tonigt and not picking this quiz inparticular it's just becoming a reccurring thing.

Since it's an event that there's actually a proper badge for and all (despite it seemingly hardly being claimed/given, still waiting for mine from well over a year ago...) rather than just a casual "hey let's do some questions" kinda thing, it would make sense to have it a little more organised than how it sounds like this one went. Maybe some predetermined questions and answers would be a good idea to avoid hosts having to call on random things that no-one knows or cares about

There's no point shouting out criticism halfway through a quiz though. It's distracting and the questions have already been set so not going to change halfway through. Much easier to write a thread saying the topics aren't varied so that it can be improved for next time rather than ruining an event. HxHD SNQ is normally organised earlier in the week. Sadly due to factors outside of management's control this was not possible for this week. I'm sure they apologise for not reaching the high standards the community expects and will take all comments on board

We did in fact organise about 2 days before who was going to host, it's just always goes disastrously wrong right before it's supposed to start. It's hard to get hosts though due to the amount of abuse they get during the quiz. I'm disappointed that this happened, and I hope it won't happen again.

But yeah, comments will be helpful.

it has become extremely un-organised over the past couple of weeks. i know that a few people have been disappointed at how they are being hosted, including myself and i really do think something needs to be done about it.

first of all, i think it needs a hell of a lot more planning and organisation. it has actually come to the point where the hosts are having to come up with 20 questions off the top of their head, which is ridiculous. if it ever comes to the point where someone doesn't have any questions then you should either a) have questions already prepared or b) have a few question sites which you can have open whilst you're hosting. it's really simple and would be effective if it was put into place.

another idea would be to have more staff online and behind the desk whilst it is being hosted. i know that a few members of staff have been complaining and not wanting to host due to them being 'abused', but tbh they should be able to deal with abuse if they're help desk staff. it is part of their role in the department and it shouldn't be left alone, especially when there is an event going on. so yeah, more staff online would be beneficial as long as they are able to dish out a few warnings etc.

another idea would be to make sure that all of the questions are all mixed topics. i'm sure it was like this beforehand anyway.

The thing is every host is going to get abuse. It's just down to trolls and sore losers. Andii should of ignored those complaining and got on with it rather than rage quitting. Fair enough andii had internet problems but all questions should be posted in the hxhd section incase stuff like that pops up.

    Edit:
Fair play to intricat for picking up the pieces
