I'll hopefully be doing my test very soon, but, like others have said, patience is likely to be key. At the end of the day, why risk pulling out at a junction or going when maybe you shouldn't have on a roundabout? You're only rushing your test which, really, is a set time limit... you can waste time by actually being calm, thinking and taking your time!

    Good luck!

I remember when I took my drivers test (In Ontario it's called a G2) and I failed it the first time because she made me parallel park on the busiest street at noon hour. I had people getting out of their cars yelling at me.. It was scary and I was crying.. haha Also my instructor said I almost hit someone..

My second time, I passed with flying colours..
My Full license though I did pretty well, although after having my full license in another province and then coming back to Ontario I had to do it again for my full and my instructor freaked out because there was a car that was being dumb..
    haha!
    but I passed.

I passed my theory test the first time around and then I failed my practical because I "didn't stop for long enough at the stop sign" so basically treated it like a "yield". Cba doing it again, too expensive. It's €84 here

I have taken a driving test, I passed on the fourth attempt.

I failed the first one because my mum entered me for it far too early on when I wasn't ready.
I failed the second one because I was so nervous and ended up in the wrong lane on a roundabout and about three cars sounded their horn at me.
I failed the third time because I got too close to a bus.

Fourth time I thought I had failed because it felt like the hardest drive ever and the examiner made me do a reverse park first thing in the test centre with all the candidates watching so I thought I'd failed and relaxed and just treated it as a normal lesson with my driving instructor but I passed, was so happy!

Just relax and you will pass if you're ready to pass.

wtf is it.. that's soo expensive!!

i passed my theory test first time. i'm still a learner atm, as i have to do 12 lessons before i can actually do my test which is ridic. i've only had 5 atm and am far too poor for more lessons. they don't seem too bothered here that if you're a learner and are driving by yourself tbh

Pretty sure you don't need to handbrake? Just stop for a decent amount of time

I always got told to make sure you handbrake because it means you are definitely stopped and recognise that you need to stop and wait.

    we all get taught different!!

That's a good point but if you stop for too long you could get a fault for progression. Remember it's gonna be slightly different in Ireland!
