    Default driving test failures

    i've failed twice now

first time i had to stop at a red light on a steep hill and the car behind was quite close so i was focusing on not rolling back and however hard i put the handbrake on it rolled back slightly and i couldn't understand why then when the traffic light turned green i went to go but it just wouldn't go and i was so confused and after about 3 attempts of going i realised i was in third gear........ i had obviously forgot to put it straight into first when stopping because i was focused on putting the handbrake on hard omg
the examiner said a car or two behind me had reversed and gone round me so i basically caused traffic to go out of their way or something

second time i was proper confident at the start, i did everything right, i got both questions right and i thought i was definitely going to pass that time but then he started directing me down little roads with loads of cars parked either side and i kept having to give way to oncoming traffic when there was cars on my side etc and by then my confidence wasn't as good because i hate them roads anyway even though i did fine, i came up to a mini roundabout and saw nothing was coming from my immediate right so i approached in second gear and as i was getting closer a car was coming and i knew i should have stopped and let him go first but my feet were just doing a different thing so i carried on thinking i could get round before it came or whatever and before i knew it the examiner slammed his brake on :/ i wasn't even upset that i failed that time, i was more annoyed at myself for doing such a ridiculous thing even though i knew what i was supposed to do but i just didn't stop?

anyway i'm taking another one, and i better pass because it's getting expensive
    third time lucky...

have you ever taken a driving test?
if you have passed, on what attempt did you pass?
if you have failed any driving tests, why did you?
any advice for people taking their test in the future?

Haven't taken a driving test, but probably will be very soon (pretty much only thing left is a few more lessons of practice, but I feel I'm nearly ready) but I'm terrified I'll fail first time as well.

Roundabouts are my weakness too, I always think "yeah i can totally make this before that car is even near me" then i get closer to the roundabout and its like oh maybe not......... usually im fine, only slammed on the brake once and i felt pretty stupid for thinking i had a chance of making it either

    passed second time.

First time I had 2 minor faults, and somehow when coming off a roundabout I went up a kerb. :/ awks. I must have been going too fast.
The first time I had Bay Park - which was my favourite manoeuvre, did it first time, really well, went fab. Right at the beginning of the test too. So was really happy thinking I had actually passed, then fluffed it up!!

Second time, I passed with 3 minor faults, so not too bad.
Had to Parallel Park the second attempt, my worst nightmare! I actually got in the space perfect and as I was straightening up, I hit the kerb! But, it was a little bump, nothing major, caused no issue and I was already in the space so the examiner thought I had already finished the manoeuvre. So, WIN. :L

I'm more annoyed that I had to do another one and more MONEY

I passed my Theory second time too. hahah. Oops!

Good luck when you take yours btw, put those other attempts in the past and focus on now x

Yeah I passed mine first time with 2 minors (both for speeding (A))

as for advice, just try to stay calm, if you start getting nervous over the smallest of things then you're more likely to make a mistake imo. Just really make it obvious to the examiner that you are constantly checking your mirrors, turn your head slightly if you have to.
Oh and its always better to be too careful than to take any risks at all, never risk thinking 'oh i can squeeze in there' because there's some examiners out there who will fail you for the smallest thing.
used to fix usertitles n stuff

    passed 3rd

1st time failed on a MASSIVE roundabout which i had to go thru to get back into the test centre at the end of the test (like seriously -.-) had 4 minors that time

2nd time i forgot i was doing the independent driving and went the wrong way and then the instructor had to guide me back. i was panicking a bit then and felt stupid for forgetting so got distracted from my driving and ended up in the wrong lane and failed. had 2 minors that time

passed 3rd time with 1 minor woo
