Marriage

I think marriage is helpful for a lot of things and I do think it is very important if you have children or buy a house (or something else big) together just because of legal reasons.

But I'm really not happy about the idea of getting married myself. It's selfish but I don't think I would ever want to promise to love something no matter what (specifically the "in sickness and in health" line) because I just don't think I can commit to that.

Theoretically yes, but I don't believe in there just being the one person out there for you, I don't even believe in soulmates so I think it's fair to say I don't think it'll happen.

I'd like to get married because it's just nice isn't it, to refer to somebody as a wife/husband rather than just girlfriend/boyfriend/partner. It strengthens the bond, gives benefits and reduces stigma/pressure for long term relationships who aren't seen as fully committed if they don't get married. It's cute and romantic.
