unlikely to happen as that causes risk to hostages until they have full breach plan in place.

Absolutely terrible. I hope the death numbers don't go higher than 60, which I think it's currently at .

Unfortunately I am in no way shocked, I'm becoming quite numb to them. It was obvious there would be more attacks - it's just a question of when and where.

Can anyone explain why France has been more of the target recently compared to other EU countries? I know its happened else where but France seems to be one of the main targets at the moment.

I read it's a lot easier to access, and France is a lot more anti spying, more freedom etc than the likes of the UK.

A mix of reasons really, both from having a higher muslim population to where immigration from France has come from (the Islamic north African former French colonies) to a much higher degree of ghettoisation in the cities of the republic than say Britain and others. France also, being strongly secular, is an ideal 'godless' target and in the past has very openly not tolerated religion seeping into the public realm (recall the street praying controversy a few years back which ignited France with fury).

I'm also sure I have read before studies on integration and Islamic attitudes that France is less integrated/more radicalised than others, but I would have to check.

I would disagree with that. France has strong privacy laws but like many countries on the continent the Police, courts, government and security services have much more power than Anglosphere countries - which I find dangerous in terms of state power and doesn't actually make them any more safe than we as attack after attack has proven. It's already been pointed out for example that French Police are armed with guns, where as British Police forces are not.

As was pointed out during the last Paris attacks and Brussels attacks, Police and security services had admitted they had lost control of certain ghettoised areas in the cities out of fear of provoking a certain demographic and thus the situation has been left to fester.

I've seen the video online and it's so horrible to watch.

RIP to those who died, what a horrible thing.

Read this the other day: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/magazine-36803542

Find it strange how such units/authorities don't share information. Well, even the UK didn't at first but that has changed in recent years which has helped us so far.
