Police station is a 2 minute walk from my house, I rang 999 because someone had broke in my house yeah.. I would say that was an emergency? - Especially since they where still in here..

10 minutes later, 2 coppers walk in the door and my dads like "Your a bit late now they've gone".

Luckly, the person that broke in was out of his face and my dad had hit him making him even more slower at getting away and the police managed to arrest him down the road but thats not the point!

Yeah, there not magical - But with the police station being less than half a mile away they could have got here quicker.

Fair enough - but your emmergency isn't the only one. They have a system in which they prioritise things. If it was the case that the officers that arrived came from the police station nearest you - which actually doesn't always happen - then I'm pretty certain something more serious was happening in your area in which the police were required more urgently.

So if I was you, I wouldn't use it.. Unless of course you want to be surrounded by armed police and charged with position of a fire arm?
Whats a Fire Arm? and btw surely it's gonna be worse if she takes a penknife and ends up killing somebody...

I always carry a knife now.. Once when I walked my dogs (my bro wasn't feeling well, we normally take them together) at around 9:30pm here this car stopped right next to me opened the door, came out and this pretty tall guy with brownish hair wearing a leather jacket came up to me and asked for directions.. My dogs started barking and I ran my butt off. It was pretty scary. Carry a knife, sure it can kill people, but if you're confident and you try and show that you know how to use it he will back away. I highly doubt some 40 year old would try and stand up to a kid with a switchblade on the street.

Or you could get a lift home, lol.

Lol. Seriously though, if I had a knife right then, I wouldn't use it.. I would maybe pull it out and try and scare him but i'd be frozen if he acctually tried to kidnap me lol.

In elementary there was kidnappings around my city and this car kept driving around my school till we all came out and then they sat and watched us. Freaky.
