Trust me, Having braces is a good thing.

They're a pig when you have em, but once you've had em off, you notice the difference MASSIVELY and sorta miss em! =o

My teeth are v. wonky, so when I FINALLY get rid of my baby teeth (NEARLY THERE!), I'm having braces. I can't flaming wait. When I grow up and earn a mazillion quid, I'll probably look into whitnening treatment.

It only costs around £200 to get your teeth whitened

My teeth never got whitened either.



Mine got put straight on as the normal silver, it doesn't really make a difference.

I've had mine 3 months now and to be honest I can hardly feel them. They just rub against my lip every so often which is annoying.

Just think that it's a short time to have it considering your teeth will be good for the rest of your life.

yeah. i mean, i know they will be annoying sometimes, and they will rub against my lip (like you said), but its the fact that after i have them my teeth may be perfect. and if i do get them, and that happens. i can't wait.

eeek ok, i have braces, have silver, trust me, other colours discolour your teeth, and in some cases, have them on longer. if you do get the whitened, have it after, braces can leave marks.

i think i want to get silver anyway. i don't think any different colours would suit me or my teeth anyway.

You have a say in whether you don't want them or not. You can't just say that you want them. Also, you'll only get them if you really need them and so if you don't but insist on having them, you'll most probably have to pay the fee or £2-3,000 which wouldn't be covered by the NHS.

Also, white are okay. I had them.
Black and yellow are tha worst k.

thanks. tbh, i'd never think about getting yellow anyway. the reason i don't want white is that they'll make my teeth look yellow, and i dont want that. then again, i don't know that for sure, i'm just suspecting.
and i don't want black braces, they'd make my teeth look rotten :/

the friend of mine, sarah, that got her teeth whitened is not exactly 'rich' lets say. and she could pay for them easily. so i'm sure they don't cost that much.. well, hopefully.
i didn't know you had to wait until you get all your permanent teeth for braces?

yeah. i'm worried that if i get braces, and then when i take them off. i'll miss them too much. haha. how long are they most likely to stay on for, do you think? or can't you tell me because it depends on how bad your teeth are?

The putty is really weird stuff, they put it in your mouth and it's horrible and warm and then it starts to dry and there are pices ofm it left in your mouth and you think that it won't come out but water makes it come off

Yeah you have to have that like, pinky putty thing to be able to get your braces moulded good or whatever. After you have to have a night retainer too which you need moulded again and that is what I'm on until May I think.

1) They only rubbed on my lip for like, a week or so. You get this wax stuff to put on the part of the brace that is rubbing so it'll be fine.

2) I meant Silver. Lol. You have silver the first time that they are tightened and on the second visit and the following visits you have a choice in colour. I stayed with silver.

3) Yeah you need all adult teeth for them. If they show no signs of coming out for adult ones to grow you get an anesthetic to numb your gum or whatever and they're pulled out. My brother needed 2 pulled out and is ready for his braces.

4) Well, my teeth weren't that bad and I got mine put on in early February 2006 and got them taken off October 2006. As your teeth aren't that bad either and are better than mine were, you'll probably have them on for around 6-7 months I'm guessing?

does the wax thing go in your gum/lip? and if it does, which it most likely will, lol, does it taste nasty or anythingg?
