Ah, on the website I looked on (the recruitment website) it says 16 - 18

If you're aged between 16 and 18 and you can't wait to get a taste of what it's like to be a police officer, you could join the police cadets now. There are lots of police cadet schemes around the UK, contact your local force for details of their scheme.

It is 14 - 21. I r a cadet. I have meetings on Thurday Evenings. Need any help with the application form Ill be happy to help just give me a PM. Also the main duty of a cadet (VPC) is community baised you dont go around busting people, however you have the power to make a cizitans arrest.

As of 1st January 2006, any citizen can make a citizens arrest (following a change in law which only allowed individuals like security guards etc to make citizens arrests) - providing they are arresting for an indictable offence, like if they are inflicting physical injury on someone else. The law is quite complicated and somewhat unclear as there is a grey area as to what you can arrest for and what force can be used etc.
