YES! i think people who are truly devoted to music wouldnt brag about the fact, but others might do for them. noticed every emo has those EXACT words on their myspace:

'people say music is their life, they dont have a clue'

never say that to me again, i'm serious. i do not care, as i do not believe the fact that the 2 most diverse sections that hate each other, were once united.

maybe 'pop-punk' and 'emo' were once together because they ARE both emo. pop punk is just a stupid way to avoid being a 'crowd follower' or just some emo band. they say they are punk because everyone loves my genre of music. i am correct.

if i were even related to such of an emo, i would clock myself right now. i'm not getting into this argument again, because ive had it too many times with people thinking they understand my completely correct view on emo music.

emo / pop-'punk' / scene are all the same. shoddy music with no real reason or rhyme. it is my opinion, and im not listening to yours.

i will not talk to you about this further, because i'm sick up to here with it.

can you call randomly strumming a guitar music? no you cant.

i like rock rap and RNB but when someone gets defensive over a type of music or starts attacking another is just sad.
Btw its a lot more then just randomly strumming a guitar.... Rap ... hmm there is some ok rap music.. But its just not as good when you put it next to rock music I am sorry to say...

    Btw you go lost

I agree. You can argue if somebody calls avril lavigne metal but i find it annoying when people are arguing whether its punk influenced symphonic neoclassical rock or punk influenced symphonic neoclassical metal.

The only thing I hate about people and music is how people can listen to foreign music, I'll go round my mates and he has some Japanese heavy metal band playing, I'm like.."Get the english version" and he's like "no it sounds stupid in english" I'm just like ":S...But you can't understand what he's saying..?" it's really annoying..I can't see how you can like it if you don't know what they're talking about, may have a nice tune but you still listening to a guy screaming stuff in Japanese

you won't reply but i don't think i've ever heard anything so stupid as what you just said.
pop punk is a valid genre, and completely seperate from scene :s. you cannot tell me that the ramones, the buzzcocks, descendents, methadones, the queers and the lillingtons are all scene. they are simply melodic (pop) punk bands.

your view is actually completely incorrect, seen as pop-punk has been around since around 1975 and scene has only really existed since 2002. but whatevs, ignorance is bliss.
