why are ginger haired people shunned?

I saw a documentry once called "F#%K OFF IM GINGER" or somthing, this guy trying to find out why people with ginger hair are "shunned". It was on BBC3 i think. It was worth watching...

Because people are idiots, it's a natural colour yet it gets nothing but greif. Black people get all this protection and racism is a big thing, but people with ginger hair get no metion in laws what so ever.

Only idiots who don't have an imagination use someone's hair colour against them.

Also, most people are jealous as ginger hair is rare, worth a lot for wigs, one of the most bought hair dye colours and the old truth that it makes you a lot smarter. Not always the case must admit, but it's worked for me.

Basically Danny, would you run up to a black man and say "You're black no point fight as you're black.". The thing that gets me is people saying "Ginger people", we're not ginger people, we have ginger hair. That's like calling someone with black hair, black. Before you say "Yeah but blonde haired people are called blonde, and brunette haired people are called brunette.". Technically those terms are for hair colours, not colours in general. Where as the word ginger means an actual colour.

That makes no sense (the bit in bold). Brunette and blond are a type of hair colour which is what ginger is... And ginger is a type of colour outside of hair, I think it's other name is burnt orange or something. ANd when you call someone blond, that is short of 'blond haired person' which is like calling someone ginger, which is short for ginger haired person. People offend the person, not the hair.
