Problem with XP!

If it's taking a while to load your desktop, perhaps too many programs are set to open upon startup. I would try going to Start > Run type msconfig, then go to Startup, and assure no unneeded tasks are opening upon startup. You can also disable some tasks that error upon startup.

I think you messed up the computer with something.
Maybe a print screen could help me?

Can't getting message "load needed for DDLs kenel" on startup now so will have to take back in to the shop.

I did say above that I was taking it into the shop, which I have done, it needs a new hard drive.
