Same with actors, if they played a part well in one film of say a comedy film, I wouldn't go and watch a romantic film they were in because I wouldn't neccesarily like the storyline..
Funny how films that are made by more famous directors get more viewers, hmm to name a few

George lucas, Starwars and Indiana Jones...

Steven Spielburg, all of his films, people watch them because they think they will be good!

    Etc...

Yeah because there's a buzz in hollywood around the film because big directors are involved, that doesn't mean that people go to see the film primarily because of that director - it means they'll go to see it because of the hype around it.

If it wasn't for the director the film that you enjoyed wouldn't of existed or possibly been that good if was made. I understand what you mean though with the IQ quote by the other member. Its overly used on forums now either saying "Anyone with a IQ over 40 would..." or "You must have a IQ of... to think that..." Anyway! I really enjoy Steven Spielberg's and Quentin Tarintino's Movies.

Yeah and I'm taking note of that, but that's not what I'm saying at all.
You can't base the fact that just because you liked a director in one film that you'll like what they do in another.

That's like me going to see I don't know, a horror film and that director also did Powerpuff girls the movie, just because the same director did those films doesn't mean I'll enjoy it the latter. That's why you shouldn't base whether you go to see a film or not based purely on the director IN MY OPINION.

Flame me or whatever, give me -rep if you're that pathetic and think I'll actually care but I'm expressing my own personal opinion and if you can't respect that then you're clearly not suitable to be in a forum..

It does all depend upon the story writer too guys. The Director just tells people how and when things must be done, not what the film is about.

Some of you just chat utter crap.
Then how come director of Kidulthood isnt famous at all yet that film was a breakthrough.. An if you havnt heard of it fair enough but its made enough money for a follow up..
An all directors started somewhere, lets say steven spilbergs first film - people went to watch the film for the film itself, not just because he directed it, how can you go and watch a film when the director had never done anything before it?

Spielberg's first film was a TV movie.

    Kidulthood wasn't a success.
