If you can afford it get a exercise bike

I use one daily, doing 22km in 30 mins (On average)

Believe me everytime you do it you will do it in a quicker time, and by doing it for 30 mins you can EASILY lose 450 calories

    Enjoy.

In all honesty you cant take all the advice on these forums 100% seriously because we dont know your exact health conditions. Its best really to go to a doctor get a checkup and they'll check general health and then things like weight BMI fat percentages. From there you can distinguish the sort of thing you need. Every persons body is different so take that into account if you follow any advice given on the forums.

If you know about your fat percentage and your body you can set about dieting. You'll want to just have a simple low fat diet. Most people seem to think low fat diets are dry and boring (Fat = Flavour theory) but in all honesty there not! even things like Low fat sandwiches and Diet/Zero soft drinks make a difference. If your the sort of person that has large portions try cutting them down but dont do it drastically cut portions down slowly just so you know whats healthy for you. Lots of low fat foods are very filling and taste good. Dont try weightwatchers or anything like that because its just general portion control i.e they have ready meals and such in small portions but give them points to make it seem like you've eaten alot. Most weightwatchers stuff is actually quite bad. Avoid ready meals in general and anything processed. try eating fresh foods or even if you cant get fresh veg you can always have canned veg. Fish is amazing for a healthy lifestyle it helps keep you healthy (generally) and keeps skin glowing, Fish like tuna and salmon are very good (steamed/baked). Try reading labels more get to know the calorie content of things such like snacks. For products that dont list their calorie content (some foods from abroad ect.) you can check them on www.calorie-count.com. That website is amazing because it has a virtual food diary that tracks everything for you i strongly recommend it.

On The exercise front you probably want to stick to a cardio vascular regime (especially if body fat percentage is between 25-30%)
Body fat percentage is organized as -

    28+ - Very Poor
    24-27 - Poor
18-25 - Acceptable (for adult bodies, if your below the age of 18 you will need to get a doctor to tell you what your body fat percentage falls into)
    14-17 Good
    10-13 Very Good

Cardio Vascular exercise helps you to lose fat because its not spot training it pushes the whole body and increases heart rate. When you get very fit cardio vascular exercise can burn up to 600 calories PER HOUR! Cardio vascular exercise is good because the rate you build muscle mass from it is slower than the rate you burn fat. So you lose more fat than the muscle you put on. Say if someone lost 5 lbs in 2 weeks they'd probably only put on 2 lbs in muscle.
Things like - Cycling, Rowing, Running, Walking all count as cardio vascular anything that increases your heart rate and gets you breathing heavily counts as cardio vascular exercise

Remember consult your doctor and get an idea of your current physical shape before starting an exercise plan or diet.

    Hey there,

I reccommend that you check out your BMI (Body Mass Index) using this site (http://kidshealth.org/teen/food_fitn...eting/bmi.html). The results are then displayed in a graph, enabling you to easily see where you stand.

Cereal diets are supposedly very good. If you replace 2 out of your 3 daily meals with a bowl of healthy cereal (such as Special K) and (semi-)skimmed milk, then you are very likely to lose weight. However - do you best to avoid putting sugar on your cereal!

The Atkins Diet is probably one of the worst diets you could ever turn to. All I'd recommend is to do light exercises; such as a slow walk for about 20 mins every day, and increase the work load.

Drink water, and eat less fatty foods; just make sure you have a balanced diet.

If you're that concerned about wanting to go on a diet, consult your doctor as they'll know what your body needs.

If that's not the case- the best idea would be to go to the Dr, he can give you the most effective diet for you.

    Good luck mate (Y)
    Finally, someone with bloody sense.

And again, sense, it's a cool thing isn't it?

Okay heres the low down "g". You're obviously consuming wayyyy too many calories so I recommend dropping 500. The daily recommended ammount for us **** jugglers is 2000, make that 1,500. This will help A LOT as thats basically 1 meal out the door (fantastic I know!)

Secondly, you're going to want to do some exercise boii.. Now I don't care if this exercise makes you out of breath or makes you feel like a complete ***, just do it. When your heart rate goes up you burn off calories.. Now I can hear you screaming at your computer screen like a complete douche' (WHAT!? MORE CALORIES?!) Yes, more calories! The more calories you can lose with exercise and calorie dropping the better!

Remember to eat 3 meals per day, breakfast, lunch, dinner. Don't listen to them size 0 wannabe's on the first page as they are just anorexic and will probably die before they reach 40. :eusa_clap

Finally, your body is like a car.. if you don't put fuel in, it doesn't start, simple as. But our body WILL store some fats because lets face it.. if you was starving me to death the old slogan "every little helps!" would come in handy..

    Goodluck!
