Why can't we just be like Amsterdam and make the legal drinking age for beer, cider and mead 16?

I think some people are getting mixed up, you cal sell alcohol to anybody over 18 at any time, there is no rule where you can only sell to 21 year olds at certain times.I know places where they ask for I.D from people who look 21 or younger but they will still sell alcohol to 18 year olds.

The general rule is if you look under 21 they will ID you, but if there is a group of you at the bar they will sometimes ID everyone (happened to me twice today), even if your not drinking, as people are stupid enough to buy drinks then give them to the underage kid next to them.
