I am taking the same stance as him because we both believe England can win the world cup but don't want to get carried away like the rest of the fickle supporters who believe that just because we beat a team rated 9th in the world twice and a load of other part-time footballs in qualifying we can win the world cup.

I was comparing my statement to an extraneous factor, away from football to try and make it clearer for you but clearly that didn't work, not to worry. I don't think you get what I'm saying and just have to try and belittle my opinion which won't work because it's evident I will continue posting it regardless of what you attempt to do.

If you had followed England as closely as you claim then why on Earth are you allowing yourself to get carried away by believing they will go on and win the world cup for the first time in over 40 years... How many times do I have to tell you that I want this too but it's unrealistic at this moment in time in saying that because the only teams we have played against which are seen as world class in the rankings we have either drawn or lost under Capello.

Frane 1-0, Spain 2-0 and Holland which we drew 2-2. I hope we can beat the best teams next year and go on to lift the cup. We haven't beaten anyone who is seen as world class by the majority of people who are in the know with regards to football. When we beat one of these teams convincingly then I will start believing. Until then, I will remain sceptical.

So now you've gone from saying 'England won't win the world cup' too - ' am taking the same stance as him because we both believe England can win the world cup but don't want to get carried' ~ well done, or are you just saying that because you couldn't answer the questions I asked in my previous post?

Well if it's away from football then I really couldn't care, because I'm talking football, if you wanna talk science, or whatever you were on about, go to another section. (I never did well in Science, I got Ds, LMAO)

I'm English, that's what most English people do! I believe cause we have a good side, and a good manager, and their is no denying that, and our team is showing improvements that I am optimistic about, yes, we have drawn or lost against the better teams, but they were friendlies, and meant nothing, and we also played our fringe players, in some (as did they), to give them experience, and we still held up well.

France 1-0, Spain 2-0 and Holland which we drew 2-2. I hope we can beat the best teams next year and go on to lift the cup. France was one of Capellos first games (if I remember correctly) and the Holland game showed a vast improvement from the France game. I two hope we can lift the cup next year. We beat Germany 2-1? (im pretty sure) And are you trying to say you're in the know about football? you've never been to a game in your life, I've been to more ENGLAND games than you have hot dinners. I've probably been to more Wolves and England games combine more than you've had a nights rest.

As you should know, the England players have hated playing at Wembley, but in the past few games, they've liked playing their, they're confident their, something which they haven't had before, and that's thanks to Capello, but mainly thanks to themselves, they've shown improvement, and the fans are now believing.

I guess we shall see when we play Brazil? (which I heard is happening soon, haven't heard anything about it though? will have to research.)

I think we have as much chance as anyone else. It depends on who springs a few surprises but it wouldn't surprise me if Holland or Spain won it - makes a change.
    Didn't see this post.

Cole is one of the best LB's in the world, even if he has dipped so yes I think he is. Adriano had the potential to be one of the best and is still a very good player but I can see why you would say he isn't, same goes for Lucio/Adler/Podolski/Mertsacker/VDV. However, Lucio, Alonso, Cambiasso, Ronaldinho, Fabiano and Abidal are all world class and great players in my opinion.

Cole is good, but the others i'm not sure about.

I'll resume this 'debate' when I'm out of the shower, guys!

I meant Juan not Lucio for the first part. I think Lucio is one of the best CB's in the world.

Lucio? don't be serious? I'd choose Terry or Ferdinand over him any day.

Yeah so would I, but he is still one of the best in the world. I'd rate him behind: Terry, Ferdinand, Puyol, Nesta but I'd say he's in the top 5.

No. Always the same isn't it. A few wins over some crappy teams and the world cup's coming back home. Let's face it, it isn't going to happen.
