And why would you do that..? You would be installing the OS onto a secondary drive (Which to me, seems like bad practice).
I have two drives, I can't format either without losing data, I have my OS and Programs on my primary drive and then all my data on my secondary one, so this "two hard drive" theory you have fails.
P.S. It's "hard drive, HDD, hard disk drive, HD" not "harddrive".

Why am I so confused about Demala's posts and what he is saying?
Never argue with an idiot, he'll drag you down to his level, and beat you with experience.

Does it bloody matter how I say hard drive? It make's no difference whatsoever :\And why would you do that..? You would be installing the OS onto a secondary drive (Which to me, seems like bad practice).

And I never said you will not lose date. Infact if you actually read my post you would have seen..
INFORMATION: Please be warned; formatting your HardDrive AND using the disc drive to install windows WILL wipe your HardDrive. If you have important information ALWAYS back it up.
Can I also add, starting from Vista, Microsoft added this lovely feature called "Windows.old" where your documents etc are saved. So technically the Windows installation does not format your HDD (unless you tell it to).

Yes, but you dont you understand - your explaining this completley wrong;
You only need ONE HDD to isntall an OS, and you didn't give a tut on how to upgrade from '32bit to 64bit' (which actually you can't do, you clean install), you told people how to boot from Windows disc (which is usually done automatically anyways). From there, they can do a 'clean install' and they can also format their HDD(s), (don't need 2).

I am sorry for trying to be helpful. In future I won't use my time, to try and help. Happy now?
- Not automatically done.
- I KNOW YOU ONLY NEED ONE ******* HDD. UNLESS OFCOURSE YOU FORMAT THE HARDDRIVE THEN DO IT :rolleyes:

You're right there.
But generally you don't format the hard drive from inside Windows, you load the disc up and click it then click format, no one I know has ever formatted a hard drive from within Windows unless it is for data only, it's just an added step that will take more time and more confusion.
It mostly is though, and all im trying to say is, you didn't provide a tutorial for 'upgrading', just a tutorial on how to boot from windows disc if not done automatically.
And it'd be pretty stupid, to format your HDD the way you said, when as it has been said over and over, the windows setup provides functionality to do it.
