May as well be unfiltered. Words like idiot, dumb, stupid and so forth are unfiltered and the members of proven so far that they can handle words being unfiltered and rarely resort to the use of this language (unless forum staff have upset them ). There are just as much chances of people using it to describe someone in humour than there are to degrade and offend.

Out of curiosity, was "dumbarse" filtered? I'm shocked people were using Americanisms when you can avoid the filter the British way.

If it's possible, then it's worth a shot for at least a trial period. The only main concern is whether or not the quality of posts is reduced with people swearing for the sake of it.

I guess that would happen but well, I can't see why it would. It's just that sometimes you type stuff like the colloquial term for sex and it comes up with stars and it's a bit like grrr.

Swearing is completely unnecessary so live without it. We will review the filter again.

I am starting to get a bit annoyed with a certain somebody's pointless posts in this forum and considering deducting 10 posts from their post count for every 1 pointless post.
