    It isn't private (interview basis) or public/paid for is it? I can't see a state school doing that I'm sure a Netbook would be a wiser option, the keys would make typing out whatever year 11 students need to type out faster than that of an iPad, and the cost if you drop it wouldn't be insane

    Are GCSEs more important these days? I can't think of any reason why you'd need iPads for GCSE level :S

    It's really not, if you want to make sure your equipment isn't being used for illegitimate purposes then IMO it's perfectly acceptable, of course, they should draw the line at webcams/microphones etc but logging browsing history and log on/off times, network IPs should be perfectly acceptable.

    Which is the whole point of this post.

    I've got nothing wrong with a school or whatever logging websites and stuff -it is their own equipment. However there is a massive issue with privacy when it comes to using webcam's to monitor people in their own home.
