I want to try this windows 8 out, but if i install it wont it get rid of my current Windows 7 ?
Or is there a way to install it without getting rid of my current OS
SWEET, MAH FIRST BSOD!
JUST STARTED INSTALLING IT TOO!
Lol, still downloading here at a whopping 100kb/s!
Can you set it so it boots up straight in to the desktop instead of the Metro screen?
Just curious. I gather Windows 8, and its new start menu will have like a classic setting, so those who prefer the old style can turn back?
I mean I'll try the new replacement and it looks like it could be easier its just getting used to it. But it is always handy to have multiple choices.
I don't know if this will change but I have a feeling everyone will have to use that metro interface at somepoint. As when you click the start button in normal desktop view, it takes you to the metro interface and also the control panel is in there. Maybe they will have an option to disable it but who knows.
Downloading it now as I wasn't up at 3amish!
Edit: Scrap the above in regards of the control panel, according to an article on Neowin:
"We should also note that the classic control panel is still available. The new layout is easy to navigate and relatively clutter free. Take a look at the video above and let us know your thoughts on the layout."
I would assume there may be some way to get the "Old" style start menu back for people who would like that back over the new interface. But if there isn't, I'm not too bothered by that.
Congratulations! Nice BSOD, still tells you the error message as well but a lot user friendly.
