Didn't actually finish reading it. The girl is really brave. I was pretty shocked that she is still alive since nobody can actually breath under SOIL. Still, I hope the girl will be safe after this.

So the nonsense about 'death is not a punishment' is void, of course it is.
So you're saying the Government and the citizens of a country should set their moral compass in the direction of drug dealers, gangland leaders and gangsters? Sounds like a lovely, uncivilised mess - a country filled with angry people who think physical punishment is an appropriate punishment.

Quite a few people who support the death penalty seem like the sort who will fall under such a system shortly after its approval. The filth they come out with, and the anger they reveal set such a negative precedent. I'd hate to live in an angry country

When talking on the subject of say, Hitler's rise to power, I couldn't add in "I support fascism myself too but I don't want to talk about it" because that's controversial.

All I'm saying is that you're stupid for not wanting to debate when posting something controversial...

Well you see, if I wanted a debate I would have commented in the "Debate" sub-forum, ironically... . And this is the current affairs forum ._.

    Thanks!

-_- and I simply 'replied' to your specific point of "You're stupid for not wanting to debate when posting something controversial". If someone in here (Current affairs) posted something about..Idk, Christianity in the media. I'm not going to try and debate with them if they say "Christianity is wrong". It's ridiculous...

Well if someone posted something in here about a horrific occurrence I'm not going to post something controversial which is out of the question?

And you'd be surprised to learn that the death penalty is controversial so by posting about it, which you are allowed to do, you must accept that people are going to post something regarding it...

I don't have a problem with people posting something regarding it, But if it's something like..what that person said earlier "Killing someone isn't paying a price for their crime." Then that's a personal opinion, I don't want to bother arguing/debating over it.

Besides, we're sort of getting into a debate now (ironically), so I'm probably not going to reply :L

Although, I do understand where you're coming from - I never wanted a debate.

Sure, probably "debate" was the wrong word. I meant something like pointing out or commenting on.

But yeah, I guess we've gone slightly off track. Maybe the MODs will look kindly on this?
