I don't know what the current deal is on staff spam (has it been reinstated? idk) but that actually seems like a good idea for a general staff thread, and then hosts can just pick and choose questions at random without only being able to draw from their own particular knowledge. It doesn't even matter really if it's things that can easily be googled or whatever since most people do that for answers they don't already know anyway!

Nah it hasn't been opened which has led me to make about 10 threads just looking for answers and feedback. Lmao.

i admit i was too pleased when andii did like 10 questions all on movies after when he took over, but atleast he was hosting a quiz that people could tke part in? but meh

Basically, I think it's good that people host the quiz taking time out and if you don't like that, then don't go down to the event - simple as! I know the SNQ host next week is varying the topics but no doubt somebody will moannn... Just give them a break?!

i've only noticed that people say things about them or 'abuse' them due to the questions, which has only ever been a problem over the past couple of weeks. whenever i was staff it wasn't half as bad as now due to people being prepared. perhaps it would be a good idea for rosy and harriet to bring back the SNQ organisers or whatever they were called? it wasn't like a separate role, it was just two members of staff who ensured that it was actually organised and the questions were sorted before the date that the quiz being hosted.

yes, you're right. it is good that people take the time out to host but when they host we expect the questions to be ready and for there to be no interruptions inbetween. there's bound to be people not enjoying the quiz if it wasn't organised and all of the questions were on the same topic. as for your point about people moaning, i can assure you that there wouldn't be as much moaning if the quiz was organised and there was a mix of different questions. yeah, there may be the odd person moaning due them not winning or anything but as hxhd staff, you should be able to deal with them if they get out of hand.

Firstly, I can only direct full HxHD staff seeing as I am not one therefore in a busy packed room there is no point in me being there. Secondly, I do agree that things could be done better but we all are only human. If you don't like it, then just leave. Simple as. We are doing everything we can to improve the SNQ and it does take a while to paste the questions on Habbo.

Also, we are going to vary the quiz topics next week.

just because you're not full staff it doesn't mean that you are unable to dish out warnings? if it comes to the point where someone needs to be kicked from the room you can always inform someone else. i know that matt is in the room quite a lot so all you would need to do is let him know and he'll sort them out.

also, considering you're in the department surely you shouldn't be telling people to leave the room if they don't like the quiz? if anything you should be trying to make them stay and taking on all of the feedback that you are given to improve next week. the reason i am saying what i'm saying isn't due to the fact that i don't like the quiz, because i do. all i'm doing is giving feedback to help the department out.

Firstly anyone who does the HxHD Saturday Night Quiz should be given credit for sparing their time for preparing questions and indeed hosting the quiz when their priority is to help users. It is a good addition to the department.

I don't think there's any problems with it but I know that there have been times where the quiz is slightly less organised than it should be. I have no idea how it's planned but there were times when I was in the department where people were being asked to do it on the day which just is disorganised in a nutshell, although it seems that the department's moved on from that which is a plus.

Perhaps it would be a bit more effort to do what I'm about to suggest but it would mean that the quiz would have some good questions ready in advance:

Volunteer is asked for on a Sunday, understandably the longer it takes to get someone, the less time they get to prepare. If a host is chosen before say Wednesday then this would work rather well. Afterwards, said person writes 20 questions (or if there are 2 people doing it for whatever reason, said people) and then PMs them to Rosy/Harriet. They're then looked at and kept safe, if there's any problems with them (e.g. that question's always asked, there's seven questions on films etc.) then Rosy replied back with these problems which can then be investigated. Afterwards, Rosy keeps the questions until Saturday where the quiz is hosted by the same person. However, if they have to cancel, the questions have already been written and can be PMd to the new host of the quiz.

It could even get to the point where the questions are posted in the HxHD Management forum and then any member of General Management can also PM the new host the questions.

I don't know if it works similar to this at the moment, but from what I've read in the thread it doesn't sound like this sort of procedure is what's happening so this is just an idea to improve the organisation during 'last minute' situations. I don't know if I've written it clearly enough but hopefully you understand...

However I want to reiterate that I commend every member who does host the quiz, it is a demanding job and with negative comments coming during the quiz (that won't help anything.. they're busy hosting the quiz for goodness sake, a kind PM can do the same job with, hopefully, better results) it does get rather painful. There are members who I'm sure just don't want to host because of the comments and sometimes I can't say I blame them. Nothing's perfect though and hopefully something good will come out of this, although I don't think it has been a major problem, if it's only the "couple of weeks" some people in this thread are claiming.

Ok i like how everyone has given feedback

1. What was really happening

I was babysitting most of the day and therefore wasnt on habbo so didnt know that my internet had gone down. So up to half 6 when i came on i finally found out that it had gone down so i couldnt get on. Then when i did come on which was like 3mins late i was wondering why maria wasn't behind desk as she was meant to be the main host aswell as me.

2. WHAT NEEDED TO BE DONE

Bascially i had been speaking to other staff members so i had wanted to do this for a few weeks. bascially CANCEL snq for a week to see how people would react but instead i decided to like have a wee mental breakdown since certain HIGHER STAFF MEMBERS were really just takin the biscuit. So i like left half way though. I wanted to get the members that come in and do the quiz week after week and see what we could do to improve it because each week was getting worse and worse with staff members not backing up their own department and helping to keep people calm.

3. The idea

After SNQ i posted a thread (with your ideas aswell as my own which i wanted a few weeks now) saying how we should be asking you what type of questions you would like instead of us having to make it up with questions that would really bore you because each week you all complain about the questions being easy or really hard or just stupid lol but IT WORKED SNQ has now changed and i think for the better =[ even if i do get fired lol main thing is its going to be very different now so woop woop haha
