news has actually got a lot quicker now since we got some numbers back and it really is not like a few days later. The fact there will be no word limit as we'd want it short and snappy also means we can quickly write something up immediately we see it instead of waiting ages and having to deal with people who need mins etc.

not really sure it's perfect for content cause they are really small anyway and that'd just make it slow again in all honesty especially when it's very similar to what news do anyway

Didn't we have the news/content debate a few weeks back? I voted for the merge, but the majority of people said they didn't want too. This is content written all over, since they will be creating new pages of content. The writing style of these pages is surely the complete opposite to news?

Either way, I don't mind who does it, if news does it, surely that's a sign that news and content should have merged... (Since news is just a specialised piece of content). As long as the guides are quick, it shouldn't matter.

yeah i agree on the last part, thats why i dont read habbox news. their news is long and boring, powertoo and beaches don't have english as their first language (that we know off) and their first article was very good. just basic facts etc. not some stupid long piece with a word count to reach lol

there won't be word count for this though (and i'm also considering lowering word count on other article types anyway cause people just ramble to reach it).

if we do do this it'll literally be just write the important info short and snappy and make it easy to read and use.

I actually agree entirely, but content is presently a three man team, I don't see them pulling this off in addition to their other duties. Perhaps a department collab?

Doesn't Pasta want to do badge stuff on the wiki anyway? He'd probably love to do this as well.

i don't think a collab would be best more a new-subsection in news with separate apps for it and everything, just like how real life reporters were. the problem with the collab again is as hayden said him and sam being in content/news anyway so wouldn't gain anything really. also this is best dealt with asap really to get the niche dealt with which is why it would be even better that way as me and hayden and whoever else wants to from news can keep it going till it's dealt with without much setting up needed so that some other fansite doesn't try to get the role rly quick.

if pasta wanted to join then he could just join as part of this subsection anyway lmao, wouldn't need to do other news after all.

Sure, that makes sense rather than restricting it.

I think a very important point for this though, is that it actually gets it's own content pages rather than being in the news, and eventually getting pushed back by pointless news stories. Have a widget on the side so people know that a new answer guide has been released, and have the page linked at the top of the menu. Then have a page of guides with their release dates and what not.

You must be reading different news to me as I don't see people rambling for the minimum, if they think they can't reach it they said they can't do it usually.

wouldn't be a department would just be a role within the news dep where those people only required to do those instead of normal reports, still allowing normal reporters to do it. it's only a suggestion but it would probably also encourage more people to apply anyway who would be interested in that but not normal reports or if it was put into content then not interested in wiki etc.
