for alot of people who commit crimes like mass murder they prob wont giv 2 shizzes if they die.
for things like terrorism, well they believe that there commiting the terrorist attack for god and will be sent to the best heaven thing for doing what they did so they dnt care if there put to death

i think they should have other punishments like being locked in a box and put on a food and water drip so they stay alive but they cant ever eat food again and can only leave the box to go to the toilet

orr if there rapists or child abusers they should have there willys cut off and then they cant do it again and cant even get off over pictures or anything
I agree that there should be more punishments, or if they do get sent to death, make it more painful. **** humane deaths.

It varies on what the person has done really what they've done.

Serial Killer Deffinatly. But for stuff like armed theft and rape maybe not some much on death because it's not so sincere for death

I would rather them suffer for a long long time rather than just having their life ended. If that can't be done, then yeah sure, kill 'em if there is 100% irrefutable evidence (or they admit it).

    No.

Firstly, killing someone makes you just as bad as the criminal. What gives humans the right to say 'it's the law so I can kill you'? It makes you sound as bad as the person you're killing.

While some may argue that it's going to bring closure to the victims, the death penalty will not bring complete closure. It may help a little but at the end of the day, there is also the family of the criminal. You're just piling grief onto them (and they may just be innocent law-abiders).

Innocent people could get killed along the way. While it is idealistic to say 'there must be 100% evidence', it's not always the case. No system is foolproof. All it takes is one mistake and that's one life wasted. Plus people confess to things all the time. For attention? Because they believed they did it? To protect the one who did do it? That doesn't mean that they did do it.

Capital punishment won't act as a deterrant. If someone really wants to kill someone, do they really care about the consequences? Some people, yes. But those that kill for their own gain... no. In some ways, they may see the death penalty as the easy way out!

While I'm against the death penalty, I do believe that the UK justice system is a disgrace. Light sentences, luxuries in prison etc etc. I think the prisons need to be a lot worse than they are. I read recently about a radio station being set up in one prison because "the credit crunch means the inmates have to spend more time in their cells." Erm yeah, they committed a crime. They should stay in their cells anyway! Life means life. When you die in a disgusting jail (atm, they're seen as a palace compared to some places), they wasted their life on Earth and now they can spend eternity in Hell.

ye i agree in the death penality, why not? afterall we are way to easy and laid back here in the UK. we give them luxuries like its a ******* holiday camp or something, and what is this telling people? that the punishment of killing someone isnt that bad, that somebody life is only worth 12 years of yours at the most.

a life has no value anymore and im positive if the death penalty came back in and it was all "life for a life" a lot of things would change, there would a lot less killings because teenagers only kill and stab because there getting off lightly. why should someone be able to kill an innocent child and get thrown into a prision for a short while with luxuries and privelages? it isnt fair, take away their life to!

i dont see it as the easy way out, sitting in a prison then having a life when you get out is the easy way out. they get to have what the person they killed can never have - a future. isnt that harsh that someone can take away someone forever and still gain from it? /
