Oh right, I wonder if there's supposed to be an irony with the whole of the human race suddenly having to live in a much poorer part of the world where there isn't even enough resources for the people who already live there, never mind the population of the whole planet.

Misawa, he's not a 'hack', he's made many-a great films in the past 10 years that have grossed a hell of a lot and he's made a lot of money in the process. I'd say he's a great film director. Sucessful + rich = good director.

95 percent of people would claim that he has NEVER made a great film. It's the majority versus you. His films cost and make a lot of money because they're promoted like the second coming of Jesus. The ability to make money doesn't mean a film is by any means good. Look at any Michael Bay film.

Great script ruined by Bay's same-old. If it had a director who wasn't seemingly hellbent on making every film the same, it could have been great.

I'm not sure what's worse: 2012 actually happening, or another Roland Emmerich film.

This is fact that you can see for yourself. Financial success has zero to do with how people feel about it.

Let's take a look at Emmerich's disaster films:

    Independence Day - widely panned.
    Godzilla - widely panned.
The Day After Tomorrow - widely panned.
    10,000 B.C. - widely panned.

And now already has begun the critical backlash of 2012, with people having the same gripes with it as all his other disaster pictures.

The last decent film he made was The Patriot, which was not a disaster film nor written by him, nor was anything to remember.

His films are box office successes because Sony drop nuclear bombs of marketing. Most people don't even know who he is, yet still dislike what he makes.

If you liked Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen or any Emmerich film, you'll probably like 2012.
