14 year old boy demands a sex change

He should be allowed to have one done ONCE he reaches a certain age. I think he's too young right now to understand everything.

I think it's fair enough to get it on the NHS but only where he is a lot older. I mean someone like that can get really, really down about things like that and I think it's only fair that the NHS do something to help them. If I was in that situation and I could not afford private healthcare then I would hope the NHS would make the right decision in regard to helping me - providing proper evaluation deems it a necessary action to take. I do agree that he is far too young, though.

The NHS is not for people to make themselves look good, or for people to mutilate their bodies with chemicals/hormones and become what i'd consider a freak. The NHS is really struggling and the last thing it needs it to be tending to the needs of complete nutters when old people are dying due to poor care, and the hospitals are rampant with deadly viruses due to poor cleaning.

Oh I apologize, I didn't realise that he was a hermaphrodite, it would be understandable for him (or perhaps her in this case? :S) to want to be the opposite sex. I must of missed that bit in the news.

Banned now lol but just for anyone else reading, I don't want to give the (false) impression that this kid is a hermaphrodite so sorry for any confusion - he/she may well be but as far as I can see that hasn't been reported, I was just using it as an example of why transexuals are often so much happier after the ops and such.

Not a big deal. A boy had already had a sex change at 14 not a big deal. The first boy to get a change was ages ago :S The result as a girl was amaing, she looks stunning now and has a contract as a model now

I saw this programme quite a while ago about children wanting sex changes & they had to give them pills and stuff so they would start puberty/periods/facial hair and it was basically about kids, at a young age wanting to be the opposite sex. It was quite scary because the kids got bullied quite a lot.
They pulled this guys (well not technically a guy) pants down and he had a vagina so he got bullied and everyone laughed at him.

Some of you people do not understand, you say it's stupid that they expect NHS to do anything but the only reason this hit the news is his age, most of you have missed the point completely, being "in the wrong body" is actually a medical condition that has to be treated one way or another, it may not be a life threatening condition but nor is chlamydia, I'm sure you'd want the NHS to pay for you to get rid of that if you got it, the kid feels like he's in the wrong body, that is generally something that someone will always feel, he'll never be happy unless he becomes a girl so I see no reason why he shouldn't, the article actually says the mum wants the NHS to give him some medication to stop puberty, not actually have a the actual sex change.
