But then if they didn't they wouldn't get people posting as often and as much as they try to defend the fact that its not, that really is what they want.

You can't force anyone to post, including the staff members and we can only encourage it. I know one way that may help in this situation in regards of staff not coming out of their staff forums but it may hurt the departments in terms of staff bonding which is what all departments need in some sort of way to keep the department nice and friendly and is also a good way of getting the staff to talk together and maybe work together also. You can go on any forum and website which may have hundreds of active users logged onto daily, does that mean they have to post? No it doesn't. Some people may just use the forum to actually read and post very little when they want to and can, like I said they need to be encouraged and not forced. To be honest you can try all these gimmicks you like, I see like 80 people online at one time, and hardly anyone posting. Staff are useless when it comes to posting, and it's not changing. Granted a lot of staff do post, but they like to stay couped up in their little staff forums. The worst culprits for this is HabboxLive Staff. I'm not taking a dig at them, and I know their job doesn't involve the Forum, but what it does involve is the community. So when you get all these new DJ's who have only just joined the Forum because they wanted the job but decided they weren't going to post around the Forum it's not really engaging with the community.
Stop with the gimmicks and sort out the staff that don't post. People who are online must be doing something so why the HELL aren't they posting?! It's a ******* joke. This is just a pointless way of rewarding people who don't want to post to post. If you're going to get people to post and to "look more popular" force the staff which will get the Forum more active and then people outside the Staff will be more inclined to engage in discussion.
Apologies to the staff that do post often and this isn't aimed at you, it's aimed at the staff who sit for hours on end Online but doing **** all.
See you get no where being polite. You need to start putting your foot down if you don't want to go the forum to go down hill in my opinion. If people are staying in Staff Forums then there's an easy way to stop that and that's to stop people being allowed to post in Staff forums and only have Management be able to post important threads for staff's attention. That's probably the best thing in my opinion and will force people to either post outside the Staff Forums or to not post at all. So that could backfire as well. But having a set monthly minimum amount of posts for Staff means that the community can be closer. **** the department's as themselves bonding, I was Habbox staff and Staff Bonding was the biggest load of bull **** I have ever done. When people were arguing in HxHD and threatening to quit they decided to do staff bonding. It was a joke. It didn't work. If people aren't going to get along "staff bonding" ain't gonna work. What will work though is to get the community and staff closer together. If the staff are meant to be serving the community then why not get them closer to the actual community. There are incentives to "force" staff to post. And I'm not saying that everyone has to post. I'm just saying if you want people to post you should be doing more to get people posting and not just "reading" or going into the Staff Forums for a bit of Spam. We have a perfectly legit Spam forum if they wanna ******* post spam. Gimmicks like this are going to do **** all and if it does work, it's not going to be people who want to post legitamately it's going to be people to do it just to win something, as soon as they've got it, you can count on them not posting again. Hence why it's just a gimmick. Reward posters, I have no problem with that. Just this is not the way to do it.You can't force anyone to post, including the staff members and we can only encourage it. You don't get anywhere by swearing a lot either. Stop the staff from posting in their staff forums and just leaving it to the managers and posting threads when they need to and so on could have a negative effect and could cause a greater problem for us. Blocking staff from posting may cause them to leave because there is no friendly involvement/environment for them, after all this is a job you take on voluntarily and don't get paid for your work. Which is not what we are trying to do here is it? It could be a trial and error where we see how it goes for X amount of days and see what effect it does do to the staff and the departments. When I mentioned staff bonding, not all departments need to go on omgpop.com for that to happen, some departments jut need a spam thread where that department talk between themselves and have a laugh and so on and whatever. That is what brings that department together and is ideal for them, yes you mention they could post it in the public but if they did they would of done.See you get no where being polite. Hardly a big deal? But you say there's no friendly envrionment? Ahem. There's more forums on this forum than just the Staff Forums. The community is friednly yanno
And the reward of the job shouldn't be the Staff Forum, you'd have to be ******ed to take that as a reward. The reward is a sense of accomplishment and helping. I just don't see why Staff don't post, it just causes friction between Staff Members and Forum Posters. Also I wasn't talking about Omgpop.com I was talking about other bonding events. And we don't mind if they bond with each other out here in the open forum with the rest of us. We don't bite yanno. We're simply just sitting behind a computer, not exactly going to shoot them with out 1's and 0's now are we? I just don't get why everything that's no "confidential" can't come out of the Staff Forums, since the community is as much of Habbox as the staff is. Without the community you'd just have staff and that'd hardly be a decent fansite
So why not give us some new friends and some interesting new topics of conversations. Yanno I doubt Ryan and Tara and Richie are that good that they can come up with 100s of threads a day, and if they did they would probably get warned for doing it. Since I "spammed" the New Posts after posting about 20threads which were legitamate about the fall TV schedule. But no that was simply "spamming the new posts" even though New Posts was irregularly getting updates on that day anyway. So I think I was a breath of fresh air to get some new posts on the forum finally. And we're just as funny as staff, they can have a laugh with us. This isn't an office environment where you have to get on with the people you work with because you sit right next to them, you can simply choose to ignore them if you wish. If there's friction within a department of a Habbo Fansite as long as they're not arguing, who cares? It's hardly going to cause any problems if 2 DJ's of HabboxLive don't like each other. Many HxL Staff don't like eachother anyway. When I was there lots of them were two-faced. So yeah it's hardly something Staff Bonding ever solved, so instead of getting them couped up amongst one and other, why not set them free and they'll find they can get away from their fellow staff members, enjoy the community and engage in interesting conversation.
I'll reply to one bit of that post and that's the following:You get everywhere by swearingAnd I've been up since 5pm, i'm getting ratty and still haven't slept and only swore four times. I didn't mean outside, I meant within the department itself. You know a friendly workplace sort of speak? But you say there's no friendly envrionment? Ahem. There's more forums on this forum than just the Staff Forums. The community is friednly yanno![]()
Yeah but as I made clear in the rest of the post, you don't need to be bumchums in a Habbo Fansite. You just need to please the community. And am not pleased :@ As long as they don't have to work in tight spaces in cramped offices together there shouldn't be a problem with two people not seeing eye to eye. Hey I survived for a substantial amount of time didn't I?![]()
If you want unhappy staff who will just leave after a few days then we can go down that route. I wouldn't want to give up my time and energy to a place where I am unable to become friends with my fellow team members and my superiors.Yeah but as I made clear in the rest of the post, you don't need to be bumchums in a Habbo Fansite. Anyway.
I can see where you're coming from but when we announced it at the end of the month it would have had the same result. I figured it was best to get the announcement out of the way, people may up their normal posting for a few days and it will settle back down - as Garion said, a lot of you seem resigned to it.
I don't think we've defended its not. Garion himself said that ultimately we do want people to post more. We're running the forum and the site as a whole so of course we want more users to be active. Thats why we offer incentives to, as matt says, encourage people to post. It's the same logic as making new skins, adding awards, and all the other changes we make - to give the reward the community and make people want to stay and be active.Originally Posted by Richie

Ex-janitor. Might pop in from time to time, otherwise you can grab all my information from http://jamesy.me.uk/
no staff spam/random threads = less motivation for staff tbh
i remember events a few years ago, absolutely no-one in the department spoke to each other and the only active thread was the booking an event thread, everyone in the department found it boring and hated it, as you were giving away the furni you bought/earned and getting basically nothing out of it apart from people moaning at you in the room because they lost
