Rules for Staff Names

I disagree, if your main role isn't on Habbo then what is the point? Our forum based staff who don't play Habbo shouldn't be forced to have a name which they don't need as a necessity. Community staff which need to be recognisable on both the forum and habbo have a duty to be accessible and familiar, so having their names the same just makes sense. They are ambassadors.

Habbo accounts are indeed free but you cannot merge or change your name with ease. Yes, I don't need to have "xxMATTGxx" and I could of stayed with MattGarner with an additional full-stop at the end, although I chose not to. Why? Well everyone has me on my xxMATTGxx account and it also contains my achievements, badges and furni which would be a shame to lose over a name. (Even though you can trade furni over)

Surely this was your responsability when resigstering to habbo and applying for a staff role.

I agree with jord, if you're really that embarrassed by your old habbo name then you can make a new one easily lol but I guess we're fighting a losing battle with this name change idea...

The bigger question is whether more people would complain if they had to change to their Habbo name and I think the answer is yes. If Oli were to put a message out to all staff saying they have to change their name, there would be uproar. You can't simply base it on one feedback thread.

To be fair, you're moderating the forum because you're (allegedly) good at moderating, not because you play Habbo. If you do graphics, your graphics are there to help Habbox, not Habbo. Therefore, what's the point in making them change? Simple.

Those non community Staff who have a forum based job, there is a question section under feedback to ask question, so the person who wanted to ask a question could quite easily do so there and/or PM whoever they like.

Surely staff could just have their Habbo names in the little bit on the right hand side and everyone can have whichever forum name they want to. I'm sure it's more obvious having "Habbo: Sammify" than just having the name Sammify, a user could just think i've chosen that as my forum name and that my habbo name is something else! All staff should have to have their Habbo names or no staff should have to.

If I made that announcement I'm pretty sure it'd be similar to suicide It's a forum, you can be called what you want unless you are staff and do your job on Habbo.

that's one the silliest things I've heard on this forum, thats like me saying, you're djing on habboxlive because you're (allegedly) good at djing.

The rule as it stands is that if you have a job on hxf related to Habbo then you must have the same username on here as your Habbo account. It would be highly unfair to force staff that do not play Habbo to change their names to match a random Habbo account. So I really don't see the point in this as anyone with a Habbo related job already has to have the same name.

Then why do rare value, hxl and comps all have to have their forum names the same as their habbo?
