Yeah, you can use it whenever you want, if you accidentally delete that channel, when go to the Wii shop then go on Downloaded Games/Titles.

Then it be there, and download it again with no cost at all..

Im not to sure if you can use a USB keyboard, but Wii have released their own keyboard at a price range of 20 GBP

You can A basic, Technika USB keyboard from Tescos works well. I use it for Animal Crossing
